Mordekaiser is from the Shadow Isles lol
You might want to read the Lore:
"Mordekaiser’s bones were key to his unholy reincarnation, and as the centuries rolled on he became increasingly paranoid about their safety. He constructed a monolithic fortress at the heart of his empire that came to be known as the Immortal Bastion. Locked away at the core of this epic stronghold he hid his remains...
...In particular, his attention is drawn to the Immortal Bastion, that mighty fortress that now acts as the capital city of the upstart empire called Noxus."
Well that isn't the reason why Sion is as he is, the reason is because they botched the Necromancy the first go around. Remnants of Mordekaiser's reign likely helped them figure out how some of the whole undead thing worked, but they still screwed it up.
What I meant is that the reason he could be resurrected is because of the remnants left from Mordekaiser's Bastion and the necromancy relics and things left around there. It must be a place of great power.
Cept his old fortress is the Noxus capital.
Was Boram studying Mordekaiser's necromancers notes?
Probably. Not only him but the Black Rose too. I'd imagine the ruins of Morde's empire had a profound effect on the development and growth of Noxus in its early days.
Considering how no sane group of people would actually build a giant skull for a house, then yes.
This makes me wonder if Noxus originally split off from Demacia.
Makes me wonder what the landscape was like following the dismantling of the Iron Empire (I'm tentatively calling it that until we have an actual name for this period of time). You don't just pick up and carry on after that, what you have is a power vacuum and a ruined land with people picking up the pieces. I'm almost assuming that you'd have the combined rebellion saying to the people "We should do this" and the people who actually liked their situation making a grab for power and claiming what was left of the dark magics of the time. In the middle would be the people who don't know what the sod to do.
Hm...perhaps the noble houses of Demacia are descendants of those united tribes and warbands who went against Morde and brought his empire down. I'm just spitballing here but now I'm curious about things.
