So, Targon
This is probably going to get a tiny bit lengthy and also probably not get recognized at all, but I wanted to talk about Targon. I went through and actually read through Targon's lore today in it's entirety, and I've gotta say I've gotten interested. I would give it a read yourself if you haven't yet.
Through Targon's updated lore, some interesting points and questions have come up.
1.) The Aspects of Mount Targon are physical incarnations of the overarching powers of the universe. There are many, encompassing things such as Celestial Bodies and even concepts such as War and Life. There is a separate set for each world they exist on. (See: Aurelion Sol's Lore, Twin Dawns)
2.) "Only once in a generation did someone return with power from the top of the mountain." This is stated in Pantheon's Lore, simply saying that typically, only one aspect would exist at a time for any certain power. However, including Pantheon, the Apect of War, we also have Diana (The Moon), Leona (The Sun), and Taric (Life) all existing imbued with aspects at the same time. This makes 4 aspects total in existence right now, far more than any have ever existed before. Either A.) There is something HUGE coming from the void or B.) Targon is creating all of these aspects to fight against the coming release of Aurelion Sol. (See: Aurelion Sol's Lore, Twin Dawns)
3.) Diana (The Moon), Taric (Life), and Leona (The Sun) retained their personalities and control while Pantheon (War) was entirely consumed by his Aspect. Why is that? Is War far stronger of an Aspect than the others, creating full control over it's host? It is shown in Leona's Lore (See: Leona's Lore, The Light Bringer) that the Aspect of the Sun is pulling for control when in battle on Leona, but it still does not assume full control most of the time. In addition to that, Diana and Taric are NEVER taken over by their aspect-- seamlessly harnessing their power themselves. Could this be because of the strength of the host or is it something more?
4.) Pantheon (or Atreus, see Pantheon's Lore) is a wimp. Even though it's described that he was by far one of the strongest and most persistent of his people, it took Pantheon/Atreus months to ascend Mount Targon. It took Diana a single night, and Leona weeks. Step up your game Pantheon.
5.) Pantheon and Leona are no longer friends. In fact, they're enemies. Pantheon seems to be fiercely opposed to Leona's ways. Also, Pantheon no longer bakes.
6.) Leona is now much more about killing and much less about protecting. Rather, she protects by killing opposition (at least, the Aspect of the Sun calls her to... See: Leona's Lore, The Light Bringer). However, it does seem that when she's in control of herself, she does seem to prefer defending the mountain rather than hunting down opposition, like Pantheon. (See: Pantheon's Lore, The Spear of Targon)
6.) Leona x Diana fanfictions are now canon. ....Most likely. Leona was originally hunting down Diana for killing the elders (See: Leona's Lore, main section), but after gaining the knowledge of the aspects, assumedly is now trying to find Leona to work with her, although it's not directly said. As such, Leona and Pantheon are no longer allies, but it seems Leona and Diana are. Have fun, GD.
7.) Through Aurelion Sol's and more recently Taliyah's current lores, Azir is actually... a bad guy? Azir's original lore seemed to play out that he was a benevolent emperor who loved his people and country. However, Aurelion Sol's and Taliyah's current lores shows him as a selfish dictator bent on turning all of Shurima into slaves. Is it someone under Azir that's doing this or is Azir's lore more told through his point of view?
That's all I've got for now. I would love to hear your speculations and ideas on all of this, I love speculating on future lore and such. What do you think will happen between all of the Aspects, the Void, and Aurelion Sol? Also Azir.
