Gentleman Cho'Gath: An Issue Everyone's Afraid to Talk About: The Movie: The Board Post
Riot, I have held this in for 5~ years and I think it's time I said something
Gentleman Cho'Gath is NOT worth 1820rp and should NOT be considered a legendary skin.
We all know that this skin changes virtually nothing other than the voice and parts of the model. Not even the entire model. He just has a hat, a pipe, a glass of wine, and a tuxedo now.
Referencing your guide that was published on October 18th of this year, a legendary skin, a skin priced at 1820rp, requires at least the following changes: new model, new texture, new splash image, new animations, new visuals, new voice over and sounds
It's also, and I quote, supposed to "...completely change[s] the look and feel of a champion" yet I don't feel that when I see Gentleman Cho'Gath. I see a meme skin that should be priced at a more reasonable 750rp or 975rp at most. Now, there's nothing wrong with a good meme skin, but the meme shouldn't be the price, but the skin itself.
Now, I understand that the new voice featured on Gentleman Cho'Gath is what initially categorized it as a legendary skin. Especially considering that the lowest skin tier that changes the voice is, in fact, 1820rp. What I also know is that at the time of release, May of 2010, changing a champions voice for a skin was a considerable amount of work that required a lot of time and money. However, at the time of writing, League of Legends is essentially the biggest MOBA in the world, rivaled only by DOTA 2 and that game is actually awful. Another fact to mention is that League of Legends was pretty much functioning at a negative net income for the first 2/3s of its existence. At least, the championships/esports stuff was.
So in that regard, I understand why at the time it would have been priced as it was, but at the point where Riot and League are now, it's an insult to Cho'Gath, the fans, and yourselves. We all know that even Brolaf and UFO Corki have more changes in their legendary skin splash art than what Gentleman Cho'Gath provides in its entirety and it's unfair to everyone involved to have it priced as high as it is.
Please, Riot. From a longtime fan of Cho'Gath to its creator and his fans, bring the justice he deserves.

ps. am I the only person who feels that Battlecast Prime Cho'Gath is, lie, 20% smaller than all of his other skins??? It makes me confused and conflicted when deciding on a skin I want to use
