Backlash over the Taliyah Backlash

Not sure why you guys are getting so defensive like we're insulting your spouse.

I don't care if she looks like a model or not. The splash just looks bad. Face is smushed and the whole thing is a single, dull brown.

There are plenty of "beautiful" female champs with bad splashes that need to be fixed. This just happens to be a not so beautiful champion with a bad splash.

I just want Taliyah to look less jacked.

If there was an issue with quality people aren't expressing it well, because it all comes off as people just calling Taliyah ugly and saying she needs "fixed", when in itself comes off as them being upset at not having new wank material.

If folks have legitimate complaints about things in the splash like the colour scheme, lightning and the like as you've put out, that's fair. It's just the majority of criticism I've seen is that Taliyah isn't pretty enough, as opposed to actual criticism of the quality of the art itself.

I think that its the point of her Splash art... She is an earth mage from the Desert that uses brown rocks as attacks. The desert is... well... a single, dull brown.

Or do you complain about the splash art of Velkoz being too purple as well?

I see no "backlash" in the first place. Actually, the main creator of the splash tweeted that he's happy to see that there is an overwhelming acceptance of her. I can link a few comments if you want of people being really happy that she is the way she is.

Boards does not = community opinion.

Its the fact you're making it seem like your opinion is the best. I personally think she looks beautiful, and the splash is well done.

Taliyah doesn't look bad, or unrealistic. Her face just has non-typical features. I actually really like the super-thick eyebrows and nose, as they remind me of my earlier drawings, and the Hawaiians in Lilo and Stitch. Her skin is a beautiful golden brown, and the proportions are all right The pose is also excellent. I don't see what the problem could possibly be except for her face looking atypical. She's not even ugly. I mean... I don't understand what else could possibly be a problem.
