Heartseeker Varus Lore/Identity?

Isn't Varus Ionian? It's just really interesting to me that an Ionian who would be closest to South Asian/South East Asian in real life would look like a blonde white person. I get that the Heartseeker skins are supposed to be kind of sexy and its cool that you guys are having male fanservice for the girls/gays but the message seems to me that a black/dark haired Varus wouldn't/couldn't be sexy. I see no "Ionian" features in HS Varus. It sucks cause it would've been nice to see a "sexy" asian male. League is all about breaking barriers. All we got was another poster boy for Abercrombie and Fitch and the worst part is Varus is Ionian. I don't know it would've been nice to see stereotypes shattered. It's just confusing cause now it seems like before Varus was cursed, he doesn't even look or resemble Ionia.

I see what you're getting at but I'm sure they thought Varus was the best champion to fit the "Cupid" sort of look. You have to remember it was a Valentines Day skin and who feels more "Cupid" than Varus. I see HS Varus as a funny and quirky skin but I'm sure this wasn't a take they expected to come of it. I'm sure you'll find plenty of what you're looking for later on though.

Arclight Varus shows how he looked like before the corruption changed his appearance(though we don't know if this is still canon)
