Hello there!

Just wanted to make a quick feedback thread targeted at the Riot Personalization team regarding the upcoming skin Warring Kingdoms Vi for people to share their praise and criticism.

For those who haven't checked it out yet here's a preview video of the skin from the PBE patch which launched yesterday.

Model and Textures

There's not much to comment on concerning the model & textures in my opinion. It honestly looks great - good details and a pleasant colourscheme - and I'm happy about how it turned out, especially her hairstyle/-colour and gauntlets. If anything, perhaps her boots is a shade too dark, and the eyes of on the gauntlets doesn't really pop. Wishful thinking would be if you could add a bit of physics to her ponytail so it wouldn't be as static.

VFX

All in all the VFX look pretty swell, however I do think there are some points which could be improved.

  • Passive: There is at the moment no visual indicator for when the passive is off of cooldown, which I suppose will be added later. I like the way the shield activates and disperses (eclipsing from a symbol into a full shield), but when it is activated it looks maybe a tad bland I'd say, though I do like the smokey effects which emanates from it.

  • Q: The Q effects look altogether quite fine, but it seems as if it's missing something. The charge up is my favorite part, good stuff, but the rest l feel looks a bit blurry without any cartoony shapes or hard outlines like the other spell effects - it sorta lacks the oomf.

  • W: This is in part my biggest headache with the skin. The stacking passive VFX is virtually identical to the classic effects, which leaves a really sour taste in your mouth as a customer if you're gonna be paying 1350RP for a skin, especially when they stand out from the theme this much. I'd be somewhat disappointed if these unchanged effects made it to live and would probably be second guessing my purchase. Since Demon Vi is in the same price category but does have new VFX for the W stacking, the R tether & target indicator it'd be odd for this not to be the case with Warring Kingdoms Vi. I could imagine Clarity™ is the reason for the unchanged VFX, but I'm sure the talented artists at Riot can work around these concerns to modify the VFX to better fit the theme without breaking clarity conditions, like they were able to with Demon Vi. Other than that, the VFX on the 3rd hit looks really cool, but the huge red X seems a bit too noisy, toning it down a bit would make it more visually pleasing.

  • E: I haven't got much to note about this skill, it looks very satisfying, great job.

  • R: In regards to the missing VFX on the tether and target indicator read my comments on the W VFX. Besides that matter, the VFX on this skill look awesome, but I wish the dragon was visible for a longer time as opposed to spectral for most of the duration.

SFX

The sound engineers have done a really good job at capturing the acoustics of jade stone, that clunk is so satisfying.

Recall

It's a smashing recall, like it a lot.

Splash Art

That splash art is probably one of the best things I've ever seen come out of your art department, which have done a fantastic job the past few years, big props. I love the art style and the dynamic setting. It captures Vi beautifully - a badass chick slammin' some fools.

Wrap up

That's all I've got. To summarize; It's a really great and promising skin, additionally I hope you can use this feedback to make it even greater.

Cheers!

I am not part of Riot but yeah, WK Vi is indeed a nice skin

Recall True that XD

Splash Art Thank god I'm not the only one who thinks that splash art is amazing. Did you also recognize the art style?

I wish she had a bit more expression in her splash art. Her face looks very plain, especially for the action she's shown doing. Otherwise, I think the splash looks great.

Somehow i feel the colors in this splash are a bit dull. see my edits. http://imgur.com/gallery/vwIzT I feel the first picture NAPA fits better with other recent LoL splash arts out there.

The vfx on w and r, u complain about, has been intentional reduced (stay near classic one). They argued that they done it cause of clarity-reasons.

Hope they change the passiv, like u said, but if they are as "lazy" as with the feral-ww skin ... I don't think so.
