I mean, just read Jayce's lore. It was a clear cut good guy (Jayce) vs bad guy (Viktor). I don't know how people got the idea he was anything BUT a cold monster blinded by ambition and arrogance, but I like that Rito has finally put an end to it. The new story settled it once and for all.

It's not new Jayce's lore has always been, in my opinion, the worst writing in the game. The version you're looking at is actually rewritten, his original was so bad they changed it within days.
Its good you think that (diversity is nice), but a lot of people will disagree.
