Blood Moon Skins, Originality, and Story Behind Them

So far, there have been many Blood Moon skins coming out for a mass majority of League Characters, whether be Ionians or Shadow Isles inhabitants. What gives? They're not at all relevant to each other right? Technically, no; and originally they shouldn't be having those skins - you'd think. The lore behind these skins is that, "Ionians from every province gathered beneath the flowered branches of the Great Tree in the Serene Gardens yesterday for the city-state’s annual Festival of Fire. An early summer tradition, this festival was a symbol of Ionian culture, celebrating the cleansing and rebirth of the spirit."

This means that Ionians gather and celebrate this event. People such as: Akali ,Shen , MasterYi and other Ionians celebrate this event. However, MasterYi does not have a Blood Moon skin; what gives? Maybe it's due to him not yet celebrating this event yet, or lack of participation. Ionians can participate by acting out The Tale of Reina, a legend in which an ancient Ionian warrior is hunted by an evil spirit. Akali participated as Reina, while Shen participated as the haunting spirit. So, why does Kalista , Yasuo , Kennen, Thresh, ect. have these skins? While Yasuo could be born Ionian, they kicked him out and banished him from Ionia. Meaning he is no longer of the current Ionia Religion and Lifestyle. Kennen is a Yordle. So why these two? Well Yasuo , being turned an enemy of Ionia, would represent the haunting spirit. Same with Kalista , Thresh , Elise , ect. While Kennen , Akali are both represented as Reina.

TL;DR: All 'evil', and 'haunting' characters are depicted as the haunting spirit in the Ionian Festivities.

So, where's the Blood Moon MasterYi , Blood Moon Shaco , Blood Moon Kindred , Blood Moon Bard , Blood Moon Jhin, and Blood Moon Irelia? MasterYi, would be more understandable, hence he is Ionian, and not an enemy of them. Same with Irelia; because she, as well is Ionian. Shaco, Jhin , Kindred, would be depicted as haunting spirits in their festivities. Bard, could just participate because Bard. They would make more sense because they already wear masks. Right? Meaning they would fit perfectly for a Blood Moon festivity, being Reina or haunting spirit.

Maybe MasterYi and Irelia, have not yet participated as members of the Blood Moon festivals despite being Ionian - or refuse to. But, I think that Blood Moon MasterYi , Blood Moon Shaco , Blood Moon Kindred , Blood Moon Bard , Blood Moon Jhin, and Blood Moon Irelia could be an official thing. Hence that Kalista , Elise , Thresh ,Kennen are not Ionians; and some don't participate. Kalista, Elise , Thresh are definitely not participating in some festival the Ionians have, but yet they still 'participate' as the haunting spirits. Meaning that they have had some type of movement or innovation towards the Ionian culture, showing themselves off as haunting spirits.

So, Riot. Given your logic of those last 3/4, why not give at least Jhin , Zed , Kindred , Shaco , MasterYi , and Irelia some Blood Moon skins? I'm sure you can accomplish so. Some of these can actually be into lore since Zed is Ionian, or was. Same with the others, with the logic of Kalista ,Thresh ,Elise are just figment imaginations of the haunting spirit. Think about this, Riot.

Actual, for the Elise, Thresh, andKalista skins, the skins are showing how their appearance is depicted in Ionian legends (since all of them are ancient-ish people with plausible interactions with the Ionians)

Kindred's Shadowfire skin is how they appear to Ionians, since their names and appearances are warped by the victims cultural expectations, like TahmKench. (their classic skin is how they appear in Damacia)

Kennen is a Yordle.

So what?

He is one of the 3 Ninjas of the Kinkou, and the Kinkou members where the original champions with Blood Moon skins.

Kennen deserved that skin alongside the rest of the team in first place.

Overall the old story about the bloodmoon festival isn't canon anymore.

And I think a rioter recently specified that the bloodmoon skins now have their own lore universe, they are a cult of people who make pacts with demons to gain mystical powers. Zilean is the official leader, but TwistedFate is the actual leader, who pulls the strings from behind. Jhin is a ceremony master,Shen is a bodyguard and Diana is a priestess. Elise is someone who is in perfect harmony with her demon, which is why she has these transformation powers and I think Thresh and Kalista are demons who have overtaken their host. Going to look if i can find the riot post that talked about this.

It is possible that this "blood moon universe" is basically just an ionian tale in the main lore, just like the story from the blood moon play in the original lore, but we don't know the details.

Based on Sona Sona's Lore from the LoL universe pages, she was left at an Ionian adoption house... and as such she too might be eligible for a Blood Moon skin either as 'Ionian' or perhaps 'lost soul' if we interpret 'adoption' very loosely as being 'lost'. This could make for a sweet skin using her instrument as a 'half moon' =D

(PS totally biased as a Sona main.... but I would love to see the Kindred version too)
