Miss Fortune's Family's Death; Gangplank or Noxus?

Gangplank is considered to have been the only person involved in killing Miss. Fortune's parents after he commissioned a pair of pistols from the family. In regards to Gangplank's character I have always had a hard time believing this considering that it is not in Gangplank's nature to put himself into unnecessary feuds unless he is trying to set an example for Bilgewater, even going out as far as not fighting rival pirate crews as to not make power vacuums. I was looking into Gangplank and Miss Fortune's past interactions and lore to find reasonable justification for his actions in the gun shop years ago. I have found official riot art that pokes a major hole in Miss Fortune's recollection of the events.

Why would Gangplank not use Miss Fortune's dad for scrimshaw (Refer to Burning Tides)? Or make him set the example?

To this day Miss Fortune remembers the man who killed her parent's and the symbol on his face

It seems really strange, at least in my own opinion, for Gangplank to be wearing the Noxus insignia on his face when he has directly been in conflict with the empire.

I theorize that it wasn't Gangplank who actually committed the act.

First of all, those storyboarding images are not strictly canon, judging by the context information on the art book website. The most glaring difference is that MF's bio talks about her mother with no mention of a father, and the storyboard images show her father with no appearance of her mother.

But more importantly, Gangplank was still a young pirate at the time of MF's tragic backstory, and had not yet become the draconian ruler of Bilgewater. He did not necessarily have a crew at that time, nor a passion for scrimshaw, and was probably more prone to impulsive murder over staged public executions.

As for that helmet, remember that Ganplank is quite literally a pirate. If he owns a Noxian helmet (or mask, or whatever that is), then he probably took it from a freshly made Noxian corpse, and wears it as a trophy. For all we know, Gangplank himself might be of Noxian descent, born to a Noxian exile who decided to try living in Bilgewater.

I really don't see any way that Gangplank wasn't behind Mrs Fortune's murder.

That definetly it's a interesting theory, but it's true. The art from her art page it's not strictly cannon. But makes one wonder: what was the original intent with the man of the symbol tattoed in it's face? It's obviously not Gangplank, but it feels weird that the artist went with something so especific when a generic face would have done the trick, being just a simple storyboard to serve as reference for her development.

Who is the guy with the red tatoo? What was Riot original intent with that? Is he really a noxian?

And the idea of being something more behind the death of MissFortune parents is something I would like to see being explored in future stories.
