So we're getting odyssey over star guardian?

Star guardian skins came out this time of year the last 2 years but this time it's this new skin line.. Anyone else wondering how long it'll be before another round of star guardians come out?

Came to mind because when I first saw the sona skin I assumed it was SG related but realized it's a new skin line

Well they did say that there would be plenty of new skins, a new event they hope no one expected (probably the Odyssey) and that there would be skin themes they'd skip from year to year. So its not like we should be holding out for xxx skin line every single year or anything. I feel It's nice to have them but sometimes they should have a break to bring us something else that's just as good

Yea, you're right. I had forgotten that they said that, thanks for the reminder

Star Guardian has by far been my favorite skin set and has had my favorite lore throughout League. It's extremely scary that Odyssey did take SG's place this year due to them making an a new PvE mode for it. I'm still hoping we'll be getting Star Guardian skins this year. Apparently, (and I don't have any evidence for this) the SG merchandise is coming back soon, so that might be a good sign.

It's understandable that they're skipping skin lines, why is it scary? Too much a good thing makes you tire of the good thing, so if we keep getting SG skins, we'll be overwhelmed with them, and the hype dies for them. If they skip lines, the next time they show up, they're more impactful and we get more stoked about them, and it also allows for them to get into a release pattern for skin lines. So one year it could be Blood Moon, PROJECT, and Star Guardian, and the next year it could be Omega Squad, Pulsefire, and Odyssey. I'm not opposed to this at all - plus, Riot has even shown us that they'll release onesies of skin lines they're clearly skipping, such as the Dark Star Jarvan and Blood Moon Evelynn, so there is a chance we could get A Star Guardian this year, just not an entire event and team lineup.

Unpopular opinion: the only Star Guardian skin I like is Jinx's.

I'm a straight male who never watched Sailor Moon, so I can't say that I particularly like a skin line full of pink, frilly girls.

Ahri though?

Ahri though?

Nope. Not a fan.

I myself have never watched Sailor Moon either. I just feel in love with the fancy looking particles and the recall animation.

If anything I feel that's the most forced one and it's been put there because they needed a chaotic/bad girl and Jinx sells a lot per se.

There's a lot of that skin line and it gets a lot more attention than most over themes, give it a break and give some other lines a chance to breathe.

That's a good point. The new skin line isn't my style but it seems like many others are pumped for it.

they shouldnt even have yearly releases for skin lines since it just makes lower quality skins that feel forced compared to ones that are either in a new skin line or put into an existing one if it fits the champ

I get where you're coming from, but I disagree..

I don't think there's anything wrong with yearly releases. Many other games have consistency in this and Riot has plenty of resources to keep the quality up.. Side note, league is pretty good with their yearly holiday releases. Halloween/Christmas/Summer/Valentine's day/Chinese new year- all those skin lines have been great every year and people look forward to what they come up with
