Varus' Bow being a Darkin weapon.

Varus/Background

Varus' Bow is a Darkin weapon, the Darkin embodiment of vengeance, but we don't know the name of his bow or the conversations he has with it. Varus is listed the same way Kayn is, as a human (darkin hybrid), so I feel like he and the bow having the same goal of vengeance is a good reason for the bow having not taken over him, and since he gains power from the bow he hasn't taken over it. But since there are five Darkin total, and this is one of the 3 we know of, I truly think it's fitting that we know of its name/it is granted a name. Its a minor change that would be very cool for the lore and he could have potential for a demonbow or demon skin where the Darkin takes him over, the inverse being Arclight, which is Varus without any corruption or the Darkin weapon being conquered by Varus. It would be insanely sick to have a Darkin Varus skin, but mostly I'd like his bow to get the respect it deserves in being essentially a demon of vengeance with a name. Varus summoner 32

In the old lore, Varus got his power from the Pit of Pallas.

Wouldn't the bow be named Pallas?

It was never confirmed that the darkin inside Varus is the "darkin of vengeance". Varus himself seeks vengeance, but we have no idea what the darkin wants.

And at least in the old lore,Varus had tatoos that slowed down the corruption,so this might apply here too.

Branching off of what AtrocityEyes said, his power stems form the Pit of Pallas (as does his weapon, we can reasonably assume because he had a normal bow before the corruption as well)

The Darkin are supposed to be immortal weapons that are eons old, maybe since the dawn of time. It would slightly contradict this aspect of the Darkin if somehow Varus and his bow "became" a darkin through this pit of power...it just doesn't fit the same way imo

The wiki page doesn't reflect the Universe one which is what we should take basic informations from.

Kayn/Rhaast voiceover hints about Varus being corrupted by a Darkin so there are surely going to be some updates in the lore and we don't know yet how much of the original will be kept. From the informations we hold now and similarities between the known Darkins I would say that Varus is indeed corrupt but he might also have suppressed the Darkin entirely since his bow doesn't talk to him nor it seems like his bow ever had a conscience to begin with.

Varus "suffers" from being really old as design (you can easily see it in the video of Kayn talking to him, the difference in quality is huge) that also predates the Darkins of a good while. I hope we will get some model polishing too with the update but I fear nothing will happen if not the add of Bios and color text.

What if his Darkin isn't the bow?

Remember: Varus was a good marksman even before he got corrupted. What if his Darkin was in some other form like the Tendrils he flings out?

Maybe his bow was just malformed by the Darkin power in the pit. Until we get an update on Lore entries, this will continue to bug a lot of people off.

When Kayn taunts an ally varus, rhaast tells varus "We find aatrox and it's a party of murder, a murder party". That makes me lean towards varus's bow also being a darkin.

Kalista Embodiment of vengeance you say?

Anyways, with Rhaast there are technically 4 darkins that we know of... except that we are not sure who are 2(or 1 if we count Varus) of them

What if when they are first made they are like the thing that corrupted varus and got into the bow and there is its body..

According to Varus' old league judgement the thing corrupting him was aiming to please. To make any of Varus' ambitions come true.

Well my theory is that all darkin started as a corruption and that when varus was corrupted, this corruption turned into the darkin bow and is now consuming varus. I would also think that this happened to Rhaast and Aatrox because they probably unleashed some corruption and turned their weapons, a scythe and sword, into the darkin weapons they are today but this was never stated in their lore, but still this is just a theory
