If other game companies could make a movie why can't Riot? It doesn't have to be one movie about whole league of legends, instead they could make couple of movies starting with something simple and interesting.

Movies based on Video Games have, for the majority, all bombed horribly.
Not to mention given the toxic nature of the community, if they do make one, and it fails, it will get heavy backlash (as would the game)
Better to leave what they are doing to the cinematic stuff

Anyway, are we talking feature length movies that get released in theaters? Eh, I would personally prefer a series rather than a movie (Don't know why everyone is so obsessed with this movie angle anyway)

They can't just start making a couple of movies. They have to make one, see how successful it is & move from there.
Slightly off topic but your point is valid that Riot makes very few cinematics compared to other gaming companies and that I don't understand. We get maybe 3 or less proper cinematics a year and that is kinda lackluster.
Would love to get a movie featuring Jinx and Piltover's Finest, not gonna lie.
As much as I'd like to see a league movie, too many characters within the game would be missed and ruined while others are over compensated since absolutely every single one of the characters are the "main character" within each lore and story line.
