I miss having Leona and Diana actively rival/want to kill one another.

In the old lore Leo and Diana almost seemed to actively rival one another with perhaps even hate on both sides (especially Diana's). It always bothered me with the new lore about how Leona, in her origin story after getting the sun aspect, immediately was like "Oh, no! I must go to Diana and unravel this misunderstanding!" and then in Diana's new lore she's not longer filled with the same kind of holy, betrayal-filled raw hatred she used to have.

It makes their whole conflict seem soft and melodramatic rather than as hard and morally grey as it used to be. Eclipse Leona's voice lines have not helped. I almost feel like this was done to appease shippers and make their shipping headcanon possible instead of the old canon which pretty clearly said they want to kill each other and that deadly conflict between the two was inevitable, as if destined by fate.

Anyone else feel this way?

I like it because League has enough rivalries as it is. Plus it's leading to a bigger story where Diana and Leona possibly find out that both faiths are false and that the people of Mount Targon are being manipulated by the Silver City in the sky Targonites

Making them more complicated like Jhin does to Shen and Zed or what will likely happen with Kayle and Morgana

Being diametrically opposed because we represent different ideologies is just boring writing

I feel like we already have too many of those "hard and morally grey" conflicts between some two champions in League. We are about to get an update on one of these - Kayle and Morgana. I feel like making the two more of a softer conflict helps.
