I love the new Lore, and I love that Summoners aren't a thing anymore. But I know that's not exactly a popular opinion, and we have shiny new forums to discuss exactly that!

Hey hey hey don't talk about what aspects of the Lore are okay to be discussed. This is a big factor (obviously) in the Lore at the moment and I want to facilitate a discussion about it.

It's not what, but how. The way you brought this up sounds EXACTLY as though you're trying to spark an argument.

Discussions are not about who is right and wrong, but about opinions as a whole. No one should go into a discussion with a right or wrong idea, but they can leave with one if it was constructive. That said whether this is a good thing or not is 100% opinion, and so there is no right or wrong answer.

I just believe that Riot could've been more creative with how they did the retcon. I'm not too upset that they are doing it as comics do it all the time I just feel they could've made it into a bigger thing. DC have infinite Crisis which they use to reset their 616 dimension it's a huge lore event for the comic book company. Riot could've done something similar here had a massive lore event for this blatant retcon.... The components are there for them to setup a cataclysmic lore event

For example using a story driven around Zilean he comes back from a future where the Void has killed all of Runeterra and now he's tampering with reality whereby he was adjusting the past to change the present and future.

Riot could've geared a special event around this whole incident and created a custom game mode for it. To highlight the retcon and to weave it into the story. It also leaves the door open for them to do it again if the writers feel the need to overhaul the story or a major component of it again. This could tie into the skins as well...All the skins of the champions we have are actually alternate realities of that champion.

They just need to get creative with the retcon rather just straight up rewriting stuff it also allows the user base to be apart of the process/ experience.
