Finding your way?

Hi everyone!

For my current college course I'm doing art studies and soon to university to do digital illustrations. My unit as of now asks that I contact companies and developers as a form of work place research for what I would like to do after university. (This post I'm making will be proof of that.)

So my question to other artist in the community and Rioters who may stumble on this post;

• What advice can you give to those starting off along this career path?

• What skills do you as employers look for in your artist?

• What skills do you personally feel is strongest for this career path?

• And anything else you can think of that could be useful.

I am aware that a lot of this information or questions have been asked several times in the past. But I am required to gain primary evidence.

I look forward to all of your replies. Don't think I'm looking for just you Rioters, I would love to hear from you other upcoming or basement dwelling artists alike.
