New Annie Splash Art (Annie in Wonderland + Frostfire Annie)

Is there a reason why the art style guide has completely changed for the new splash art? Doesn't feel consistent with the rest of the game--not really digging the 'anime' look. I hope they aren't re-branding their entire splash art to change to the anime look....

Example: On a scale of 1-10 of "realism" (such as Lux and Ahri) most of the art style guide was about an 8 and now the two new ones are around a 3. If that makes any sense...

I'm also guessing they are borrowed from the eastern games perhaps but why is that a decision that was made? Honestly what kind of art director is running right now back at HQ? Art consistency should be an important factor in a game and right now its going down the drain of laziness :(
