How we talk about Lore

So yesterday I had an interesting experience with lol lore that I would like to share! But first let me give you a small intro setting: We were sitting after a small barbeque with friends and my GF (who is an ex-lol player who can't last hit T_T), and she asks me to tell her what is happening in the current lol lore. The best storytelling asset was the map of Runetera that let me help her "pictures" what's going on. Please keep in mind that the explanation needed to be short and simple as possible, so here we go:

##Starting with Targon A celestial place where some space-gods overevolved society is possessing "worthy people" with different aspects as Joy, War, Sun/Moon, etc! It's normal that during 100 or 200 years are on Runetera just 1 or 2 aspects, but now there are like 5 to 6 of them which is weird and people are afraid that is the bad omen and preparation for something big.

##Next, we move on the map to Shurima A desert place, like old Egypt/Persia, where a people harvest magic power by Sun Disk which turns them in KFC Demigods Azir

##Moving to Icathia with Surimia in context Here was a huge battle with Shurima demigods agast people, they were losing so they open a gate to Void which destroyed this part of the land, opens a portal to horror world of corruption (remember the Discworld?), and "corrupt" most of the Shurima demigods that turn to Darkin = Demon version of itself

##From Shurima we move to Ixtal A new nation in a forest, basically Black Panter without tech but with magic.

GF: Marvel lawyers are gonna be happy!

##Hello Piltover & Zaun Huge megapolis where the "technical hight class" are on light, and poor chemical tech people below ground with a lot of interesting Hextech (magic crystals + tech honey) things going on.

##Now we move to Noxus Click here 4 mood Stong empire that looks like the classic "Bad guys" but is more thrived buy pure power than evil, recently a revolution and old death king and tyrant wh build the nation is maybe coming back, which is not a good idea.

##Io Io Ionia! Basically, a "Japan" culture setting but with recent invade of Noxus twisting the Jing Jang philosophy of Ionia > Ionia won in the end, but the magic harmony land now is going through an existing crisis cos of it

##Left of Noxus you can see Demacia Demacia summary Aka the "good guys" but in reality is fusty frighten society wich classic noble classes that build itself on pain, hatred and terror of mages and lock them up (basically Gulags for mages)

** GF: Wait but Lux is a mage!**

YES! But she is Crownguard > biggest noble family after the king one, but Demacia recently had a starting revolution with Sylas as a leader (look comics!) and Lux having a little crush on him

** GF: HA! He kinda looks like Keanu Reeves! ^^**

Almost at the end, we have Feljord

a frozen land with some demigods running in the wild and Ahse (your ADC remember?) as a recent queen of barbaric tribes trying to hold their reins. Plus here is a little story of Lissandra and void, once who try to come to the world long ago but in the end, Liss betray them and lock up them up in a frozen bridge summoner 39

**GF: But now the path is open inIkacia! G_G **

##Here we got a Pirate island, Bilgewater! Click here if you wanna have good day Pirates, Jack Sparrow and Miss Fortune going agast Gankplank wish some mystery mist and Lovecraft monster somewhere in the sea.

##and finally, we have Shadow Isles. The real, "bad guys and evil" of this world with wired corrupted mist that twisted anyone to bad guys (if they didn't die).

##Now we were prepared for Bundle city, but here is the reality:

GF: "Sh*t, the potatoes are burning, i need to go!"

And that is how we end the Runeterra lore.

To end this story, just read it has fun! But if you wanna interact, feel free to share how you would explain the story to her + what you think is the best storytelling way of going through lol world? Thanks!

"Sh*t, the potatoes are burning!"

Yeah, that's the best way of talking about lore after the retcon...

It's hard to care about something that changes every year or so depending on the character tbh.
