Aurelion Sol needs this...

I have been playing league for about a year and I see a lot of skins that champions get. I am really happy that riot is making some skin lines math the champions concept. But one thing that is weird for me is why I have not seen a Dark Star Aurelion Sol skin yet from Riot at all...

The dark star line literally matches Aurelion Sol the best, it even has it in its name "Dark Star"

I hope we get to see Aurelion Sol with that skin and maybe see more skin lines that matches the different champions in League of Legends.

Overall I just really want to see another skin to Aurelion Sol because he can have such beautiful skins like:

I could imagine that Dark Star is too similar to his default look. The purpose of skins is to provide a different experience compared to the default look. Going from "space dragon doing star stuff" to "space dragon doing dark star stuff" would fit thematically, but would likely end up feeling more like a chroma than a new skin.

I know what you mean but there is already a lot of skins that already look like the skin does even more than what Dark Star Aurelion sol might do. Like:

Muay Thai Lee Sin
Red Riding Annie
Cosmic Queen Ashe <> Championship Ashe
Sherwood Forrest Ashe <>Woad Ashe
Bard bard (a bit)
rusty blitz
and a lot of Sivir skins and so on

But mostly this is opinions what people see skins as, and also depends on how Riot makes it like if you have seen people making Dark Star Aureliion Sol it looks really good and not really that much as default Aurelion Sol.

The thing is, all of those skins are a) worth less than 1350 RP, the new minimum standard for all skins Riot creates and b) released waaaaay back, some over 9 years ago. Back then they didn't even have themes like dark star, project or star guardian developed.

The newest ones being bard bard, an april joke skin and championship ashe/cosmic ashe who have basically nothing in common thematically or designwise?

So you think that Chamionship Ashe/Cosmic Ashe looks less alike then what Dark Star Sol and default Aurelion Sol could look like? Because the feeling you might get from those skins are the same (Color and light)

Yes..?

Cosmic Queen Ashe has fading textures and animations that sort of look like veils. Her model has multiple veil-like aspects as well, herself and her animations are very fluent. Championship Ashe has no such things, very blunt animations, dull colours except only for the ult impact. All her arrows leave barely any trails. Her model also lacks any aspects of the cosmic skin, rather old fashioned fancy armor. Also the entire concepts are far more different from another than Dark Star and Star Dragon.

Meanwhile, Dark Star Sol's biggest difference would be the colours.. you can debate that "oh but he doesn't have stars in his skin, those are black holes or antimatter or smth", but honestly who cares. Dark Star is just too similar to the base concept of a galactic dragon.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be a nice skin, but it's just very unlikely.

Also with Aurelian Sol, I think u are thinking to basic like then you might as well say that Ashen lord looks a lot like Aurelion sol just with flames. Okay, but splash arts are not the main part of the skin.. especially if it's just a similar colour scheme for entirely different concepts. Cosmic and championship are nowhere near as close as Cosmic and Dark Star.

Yes, as I said it doesn't have to be a bad skin. This looks insane and I'd love to have it as much as you. All I'm saying is that it's unlikely, since the concepts are very closely related and too similar. You're not going to find a lot of difference in terms of animations either. As I said, a star as an orb or a black hole isn't much of a difference concept-wise.

They shouldn't be pricing 1350 as standard. Theres no reason not to make 750 skins on occasion, 975 for the majority, and 1350/1820s for special skins.

That's what they did though, for literally 3 years now. The last skin <1350 was Blood Moon Elise. They claimed the standard of skin quality is by far higher than it used to, so they also rised the price tags. In addition the RP value increased. In other words, what you could almost buy 2 of for 10€ is now the standard for 10€ value.

Call it scummy or not, the skin quality did increase compared to older 975 RP skins.

Conqueror Alistar was the last, true. Festival Queen Anivia was released in 2017.

Still all of the 975 of the recent years were just like 5 in how many.. 300 400? Probably more.

Elise was a 975. They which they still make, last one was Conqueror Alistar last year. Along with others like Festive Queen Anivia, Birdo, BM Eve, Chem tech trynd, just to name a few in the past two years.

"To name a few" means basically all of them. Even if there were 1 or 2 more back until 2017, that's still maybe 1% of the skins released. 5 out of multiple hundreds of skins. They are an exception nowadays, not the norm.

Well not really, cause there were others, but Riot does make far less of them now yes. They still try to make them when they can feel good for players (as according to their surveys players like the 1350 quality more). Like Birdo for instance was a 1350 tier skin but priced as 975 to I guess show players some love? I dunno, they didn't give much reason for that one.

But at least they still have a small amount coming in the past two years. 750s however are a tier last seen in 2017 with things like Super Kennen, so that one has been completely dead like the 390/520 skins before it.

7502 are dead, 975s aren't. That's what. Calling them dead is like saying Ultimate skins are dead cause there's only 5 of them and they only ever produce 1 every year or two.

Dark Star Sol on the other hand, should never happen as it's redundant.

They make 1350s the most because players want them. They've sent out surveys and that is what comes back as the best skin type. They still make 975s when they can make them feel good, but 750s haven't happened since 2017 so it's unlikely we'll see those again.

Meanwhile Ahri has two Korean idol skins, two or three schoolgirl skins, every Tris skin except DT is 'She has an eyepatch' If anything it's a good excuse to make it 975 tier - no new VFX or SFX, just a new model and recolored particles, maybe a new recall maybe not. Ashen Lord's recall is the best anyway
