Sorry for posting this, but the forums are here for discussion.

Also sorry if I put this in the wrong board, I haven't used the new forums before and I feel like this was the most relevant because it's about the event. I'm just posting rambling thoughts about everything because this started a pretty big reaction in me. I know for a fact I'm going to get downvotes or w/e, oh well. This is more of a "rant" in the structure but it had most to do with the event. Please move this if it's not in the appropriate section.

I just need to start out by saying I love it when the lore and story interrupt my gameplay, especially in a game that is known as one of the most popular games of all time. I've seen constant reminders that Riot puts a focus on gameplay since that's the most important part when it comes to the LCS or w/e it is, the story has no influence there at all.

Remember when they removed the physical League of Legends, in story, from League of Legends? From what I recall that was to make a clear distinction from the story and gameplay, to let the story live and breathe on its own. WELP the story is influencing the gameplay with the "dead" Gangplank and his selection disabled. Couldn't you just say he's bugged like normal? We would all understand.

As a side note, some people actually like these champions a lot and to be slapped in the face with one of them being "dead" and not able to play them for an undetermined about of time? Cool. People so excited to see the new Gangplank and play him BUT OH WAIT THE STORY COMES FIRST.

Talking about that whole "letting the lore and the story live on its own", when this new lore direction went into place Riot almost IMMEDIATELY fell into the grimdark trap. Gangplank carving pictures into a guy's bone like my favorite My Immortal drawing from deviantart. If I'm to be convinced that this is a real world taking place, I'm supposed to assume that literally everyone hates and wants to kill each other because that's what I'm fed with. Drama. Angst. Romance. Deception. My FAVORITE Lifetime television special.

I've been playing this game for many many many many many years, and I've spent lots of money on it (mind you I'm not using this as a bargaining chip, I'm stating so so people know I'm at least somewhat commited to this game). This company, regretably, has actively gotten worse. In its mindset, in its focus, in its development, literally every way possible. There are a few gems that happen every now and then but they so coated in dirt that I don't know if it's even worth it.

Also: WE ALL KNOW THIS IS A CROCK OF SHIT. GANGPLANK ISN'T DEAD, YOU'RE NOT JUST GOING TO FLAT OUT REMOVE A CHAMPION FROM LEAGUE OF LEGENDS. That would be a poor decision in literally every single way possible. It would make lots of people angry and stop playing (I myself am not playing until he become enabled again), it would be a waste of time and resources. We know you're not going to remove him, this isn't lore, this isn't story, this is just inconveniencing player for LITERALLY NO REASON.

Another note: you people hire the worst artists. I've seen their actual person from some of the stuff you promote, they are trash people. I know you don't care because this is about business, but as a company that tries to be close to its community that kind of seems like a "fuck you" to certain people. Looking at their actual art, I don't know why you decided to make all the champion artwork as overlydetailed and complex as possible, less is more. You think this is a style? No it's just A LOT of shit to look at and it's hard to decipher at a glance until you play for a week and then just remember the color of the person you're looking at. The really old art actually had a style to it, the watercolorish type art.

I wouldn't care about half of these problems if Riot would just admit, right up front, that they don't care. I've seen them stop caring over the years, when old people left and new people joined I've seen a visible decline. You have a certain few Rioters who people REALLY hate, and I'm just guessing no one has posted their thoughts before. I do remember someone made a post about how they don't know about the part of the community that doesn't post on the forums, and that's completely valid. Perfectly understandable, but that's why I'm making this post (also to vent because this company makes me angry, frequently.)

I have a lot of negatives with this company and a few positives. Just for one, that little info tidbit saying how "the community overwhelming votes to punish homophobic behavior"? YEAH NO LOL. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people comment on Taric being gay or making gay jokes about him or just in general and no one said a thing. No Rioters, no players, nothing. That info tidbit is a flat out lie. Thinking a man is gay because he's flamboyant is homophobia, you're stereotyping him (also as a shock to a lot of the idiots out there, actual gay men look more like Graves and Gangplank and Udyr. Surprise binch :))

I'm going to stop now because I was just typing things down at the top of my head. I know people agree with my statements but I had to post it to see if it has any relevance of the forums. But keep in mind that whole "loud community vs quiet community" thing goes both ways. ((another side now about the same thing, a lot of people love the bilgewater announcer you should keep him and the map forever)
