Progress Update On Dragonmaster Swain?

It's that time of year again, Riot update on the status of Dragonmaster Swain? In case you didn't know, Dragonmaster Swain was a (cool) skin concept from about 3 years ago that has been in development hell since. I know it's tough/impossible to meet everyone's expectations, but maybe Morello jumped the gun a bit by saying "We will do this skin - I'm sure of that." At this point, I think people will be okay if it doesn't completely meet expectations, so long as we get ANYTHING Fanart of Dragonmaster Swain

Last time we heard about this skin. It was from Riot Whilst nearly year ago as follows

"Just so nobody has any new expectations that will get crushed: Dragon Master Swain is not slotted for production at any point in 2016 currently. There was a glimmer of hope for the skin in 2015 when I posted that, but it wasn't able to happen.

That means the skin has not been in production in 2016. This doesn't mean the skin was cancelled as so many ppl believe.

Actually, What GreenLore said is also crucial for the answer you are looking for.

Every time the skin team wants to do a skin for a certain champ. They have to check if the champ is in good shape and not be considered in need of VGU anytime soon because they don't want to remake skins for the same champ again and again.

Swain is now relatively high on VGU list but will it happen in 2017 or not? We still have no idea.

That is why I stop complaining about Swain not getting a new skin because no VGU = No any skins. Maybe they might give him a 750 rp skin which has no new particle, sound, recall animation etc.

The ball is in champ update team court not skin team.

Its been clarified alrady that Swain is on the list for a VGU and thus unlikely to get a skin(especially not high-quality ones)

Poppy got a VGU and fairly soon after got a high quality skin. I'm asking because this skin has previously been confirmed and we have received little word as to its progress.

Swain didn't get a VGU though, just some texture reblancing so he doesn't look like an edgy mute thing from the 2000. He's probably not getting any skin anytime soon.

Yeah,you pretty much said it already. Poppy got the skin AFTER her VGU,but Swain did not receive a VGU.

He got a small texture rebalance around the time when pretty much every oudated champion got one and he received a minor gameplay update during the mage update(in fact they said that he doesn't get a big gameplay update,because he will get a VGU eventually)

I misunderstood what he meant, my bad. Regardless, this doesn't exactly answer my original question- how is the progress on the skin confirmed 3 years ago? VGU, gameplay update, whatever aside, is this skin still being worked on?

It's not being worked on atm they have to wait until champ up update Swain first. At best it's simply just an idea floating around
