I find it incredibly odd that there are no League of Legends novels.

What happens in the game has nothing to do with the lore or Runeterra. It's like how Shounen fighting games take a bunch of characters from an anime/manga and put them against each other. "Summoner" is just the word for someone who plays League of Legends. That's all it is.

At least, it is after the League of Legends and the Institute of War were retconned from the lore.
