So the new Star Guardians are getting borders. Although we don't know how to achieve them as of yet, will the old Star Guardians also receive borders?

Only the 2017 Star Guardian skins will be receiving these borders. Right now, we don't have plans to add them to the others.

I already knew you weren't as I had asked over Twitter, but it's still very sad. Like you even went back and gave Yasuo a PROJECT border when he was released before the others, so like why won't you be adding borders to the old SGs :(

Yasuo was a single skin, that lead into 5 others. He got updated for the people who ~~originally ~~bought him. Lux, who was the single skin that lead into 4 others, got updated with the other 4, getting a Homeguard animations and a redux'd texture.

There is a big difference being ignored here, and I don't like it.

No, everyone that owned him or bought him till that event was over could get the border (it wasn't just for those that originally owned him).

Ah, my bad, but the rest of the point stands. He was a single skin compared to 5 others, just as Lux was the single of the new 4 SG skins before.

Shouldn't matter if it's 1, 5, 10, 20... it's a faily simple cosmetic overlay.

No not really? The Overlay's the new SG crew have are all according to their specific squad, save Syndra's and Soraka's, they seem to be outliers. You can't go around copy-pasting them, or else it's going to feel cheap and a lack of effort.

You'd have to design SG overlay's for 5 other champions in a way that makes sense for each of them. That is not an easy "Middle of the night" fix. That takes time, and effort.

Never said to copy-paste them. I know they are slightly different for each champion, but they are still not extravagant that It'd take months to design something like that for each champion.

No, but it's also not close to within the time they could add in things to the PBE patch. So it's not a fairly simple thing.

Current PBE is set to last for another week as this cycle is 3 weeks long. Also never said they had to put them into this one.

Wtf lol? I can't see any other difference beyond minor changes to the golden holder of the gem and color of the gem. You are making it sound as If we wanted complete Visual Update for all of them.

Also this is something that hapened before and they should've though about it before.

I mean, to be honest, it still seems out of place.

The new star guardians have all the same pose, their splash arts are pretty much mirrors of each other, while the other 5 have quite the amount of differences. Not to mention color clashes could be an issue (Janna and Syndra, for instance.)

I can understand, but that simply isn't fair that every PROJECT skin got a border, yet the old Star Guardians (especially Jinx with that Red Star) don't get one.

I am now a very sad boy.

For one champion, not 5, when meanwhile each of the Overlay's for the champions are more than just different colors. (Ahri's, MF's, Ez's are the same design, Soraka and Syndra both different). There's a big difference here, especially when they're symbolic of the Crest on the skin's uniform.

After when? Project is the only one that comes to mind, with Ekko, Kat, and Ashe, which were new skins. The only precedent for going back and giving an Old skin an Overlay was Yasuo, like said, a Single champ.

The moment they did it, it was to be expected for later skins. That is a fact you can't dismiss. As I keep saying, Riot is getting lazy.

Then you're letting yourselves down. If Riot did something ONCE, it cannot be used to set a precedent, that's unreasonable. If anything, it's a sign of good will, but if you set an expectation off that, that's not Riot being lazy, you're disappointing yourself.

I won't pretend to know what amount of effort or resources creating borders for the former skins would take

but i'm sure everyone here would agree they'd be very well appreciated by the community and worth the time. i love that extra flair and go out of my way to make sure i can get them

Just out of curiosity, how would you receive the borders? I don't think that that was stated anywhere. Is it an icon, or if you buy it within x time period? Either way, I want the Ezreal one :3

I posted something similar earlier and got downvoted. I'm hoping we do. If we don't though, we can just keep up the QQ, and riot will eventually give in, just like they did with the original project yasuo owners and the new project skins

Its only fair to give them borders. Also anyone else notice how different the art is? If Riot could, please update the older one have updated art. The difference is disasterous. Its like you dont at all care about the older ones at all. No plan to give border and didnt have the curtacy to stick with the art style. The newer style isnt bad, its actually very nice, the difference is whats bothering me.

the older style is very nice though, and i think they should keep them. After all,Lux was the one that came first then they made the other 4. They have different poses which shows that there was a lot of effort put into making them, and I think theyre very nice. The new ones were made all together so they have a different style than the old ones. sure the new ones kind of have lazy backgrounds, but if you group them seperately, you can tell which Star Guardian is from which group.
