The new (in-game) design details are a mistake. Turn off option please.

I just logged in to play the game and what do you know as soon as the game starts I'm overwhelmed by colors and elements. I'm sorry to tell you but whoever designed this patch updates and thought it would be a good idea to add gradients (health bar) and brighter elements all around (in-game) deserves a slap in the face.

I've never ever wanted to quit LoL as much as playing this single match made me.

It might be just me because of my experience with design and similar things like user experience improvements and what not. But dang, someone has definitely missed their lessons on this one. I can barely see anything now in-game, my attention's everywhere it shouldn't be. Health bar isn't as important as seeing that barely visible (in contrast to other elements) skillshot that i need to dodge or the champion I'M PLAYING against.

You have a flat design all around, and what, now you decide to pop things where you shouldn't and when you shouldn't at all? Come on. I want to play the game better not see more fancy and absolutely unnecessary "cool" visuals in game.

Heck I bet not too many people noticed something at all.

Still, I ask you of one thing. Give me the option to turn all that fancy gradient coloring off and give me my flat health bars back.

You’re making a big deal about something that had a lot of hard work put into it. The new health bars look amazing, and you can tell that the new, brighter details of League have been a long time in the making. I think asking for a reversion option is a good idea for those who don’t enjoy it, but to be so rude in your delivery of your idea wasn’t necessary.

If you knew anything about how it comes to be made, you would know "a lot of hard work" is overly generous. It's at best 4-5 separate tweaks and I doubt more than one of them needed any actual work.

I'm glad it looks amazing to you but I wasn't here for the graphics and I am sure older players weren't either. The game kept going strong despite the fact that it was way worse looking than most games of the time. And it does say something.

This move was obviously made for the business (to attract more players) rather than improve user experience in general.

You clearly don't agree with me, but I want to improve (at the game) and not be distracted by disgusting contrast in elements of the game. You might like it, likely most people will like it, but there are people like me (with sensitive eyes) who won't. If there's an option to turn off separate elements in the game, then making a turn off button for these "brighter details" is just as simple and probably even more important. At least, compared to turning the health bars off completely...

The old code hasn't gone anywhere, they still have it, it's just a matter of whether they care enough to flex their fingers and get those additional bits of code written.

I was rude, because not even the newbies in my line of work make a mistake like that so it's not something I expected from a company that makes that much money. And perhaps that RIOT has been making so many, literally, game-changing updates recently that this one got me completely thrown off. Trust me, at this point I don't feel thankful to them at all. All the changes they make are just so more money can be made. And I'm not pulling this out of my bottom load. I work around things like that and have yet to see RIOT make something JUST to improve user experience.

It's just a lot more personal to me since I do consider whoever worked on this to be one of my kind. Call it what you like but, I'm sure not spoiling already spoiled little special snowflakes. They are professionals in their line of work and they must be able to take harsh critique. I was clear on what I found wrong with it and that their decision (on higher contrast) was in my opinion a mistake.

Why wouldn't I make a big deal out of this? To me, the game is literally unplayable at the moment. Why wouldn't I speak up? Isn't RIOT living off of my and everyone else's money? Don't you think they owe you something? Say, A PLAYABLE game? I'm purchasing a product and expect something in return, it's not the other way around. That's how a honest business is done and I treat everyone who purchases my services the same. I'm the buyer not the seller, so kindly "asking" them or not is completely up to me. They have responsibilities (as a business) and as far as I'm seeing (all the recent updates) they are turning in another monkey generator machine with oily hands looking to make another buck.

I'm just gonna say unlike your opinion, Riot had several people with years of experience design it, more people with experience verify it, and even more people test it before releasing it.

I'm fine with someone voicing a design opinion, but what I don't like is someone insulting people about something that is clearly a personal preference. If you want to stop playing go ahead.

Oh and by the way here's is someone politely asking for the option in question.

See how far "polite" got them.
