A purpose for Chromas in VGUs/model updates
So historically there has been a problem created when champions receive full model updates where their skins get remade and aspects such as clothing styles or color palettes are changed.
I propose that chromas be utilized in these specific cases as a way to preserve the original styling of the champion skins. They could be made into a chroma that looks more similar to their original skins color palette/design/clothes.
This is a fairly small problem but it's been bugging me since 2012 and I think that the current chroma technology presents a solution that appeases both the designers in charge of updating old champions and skins as well as players that are fond of particular skin characteristics prior to these updates.
3 past examples of how a VGU had altered the original skins in significant ways are: red card katarina's legwear being absent, the hair colors of mercenary kat being changed from blue/teal to white/blue and kitty kat's hair being changed from brown to red. The problem created here is that some players prefer the original designs and colorings that were lost upon her update in 2012. Chromas could be utilized in cases like this to have the new designs while still giving players an option to use something more similar to the original if they wanted.
With the plans to do VGUs for dated champions more frequently going forward; I think that this issue will become much more prominent than it has been in the past and i think that a solution such as this needs to be implemented.
and
could have really used this as a small sort of way to appease players that the reworks upset.
