Morgana Rework isn't Finished Visually

I know that this looks like a rant post, and maybe it is. But I love Morgana and the more I look at the pre-release of her skins the more things I notice that have been left out, are incomplete or were deleted entirely. So here are my thoughts.Morgana

-Her dress is literally the same base dress in every skin. I know that before most were the same but a couple, particularly Bewitching have really lost out as the skirt was different previously and much nicer -They took out detailing on the skirt in every skin so it's plain or made the details so small and dark they practically don't exist. This is major in some cases like Bewitching -There are no passive animations anymore on skins. ie. bats flying, leaves falling, blackish dots, sparkles (Bewitching, Blackthorn, Ghost Bride, Victorious) -The chained wings on her butt (still confused why they're on her butt) look like a tail because they're not textured like wings and blend together to look long and fluffy like a tail -She's super anime at the end of her back and in a couple more moments especially with her mouth which looks off because the mouth gets so big -Her mouth at moments is big and angry clenched while she's supposed to be talking, which isn't possible if talking -There are some weirdly bright colours that don't belong, especially in hair (ie. Ghost Bride random bright dark blue hair behind the bangs, Bewitching hair, Victorious light bright purple) -Her shield is smaller than every character model except yordles and doesn't stretch like most shields do -Exiled Morgana's wings went from bloody to just naturally orange tinted -Blackthorn Morgana lost her unique death and her leaf wing texture completely -Ghost Bride lost her veil

I know it's picky but these things matter. What are your thoughts?Morgana

Ghost Bride lost her veil

That's not all she lost. She had kind of gravestone looking wings that attached to her from chains, and I miss that look.

I'm really happy this forum was posted. And in saying this, I mean no disrespect to the artist's behind Morgana, I just worry she's being ignored in favor of the updates and detailing Kayle received. I'm hoping she gets the same treatment throughout the next two weeks. ive heard thus far they're adding the leaves back to her E and a death animation for Blackthorn but nothing else.

i really wish they kept the poof dress in bewitching morgana skin its the reason why i bought this skin cause the dress is very different than the rest of her other skins but sad enough they removed this poof in the rework and i really wish they would bring it back

I hate how all of the dresses and really thin and cling to her body, I miss the big fluffy dresses she used to have. The bewitching skin in particular is really disappointing because I feel like a big round dress fits the witch theme better.

Visually, the Angel twins have been kind of shafted, I think.

Kayle seems to have similar problems. Lack of polish, and vfx lack any real punch or pop.

Honestly, I am pretty sure she's gonna be shipped like this and be done with it... really disappointed with how Blackthorn ended up looking though, the W on it is horrendous, most of it is just a recolor of the original with a few leaves and woods thrown on it.

This is a model thing, and not something that can or will be altered. The dress is the shame shape more or less in all of her skins because her dress now is involved in a helluva lot more of her animations, such as her Q cast when she spins, her W when she drops low, and her R when she spins and flies. The dress HAS to remain the same because the animation points are tied heavily to her movements, so if they made it poofy altered it's shape in any way, it'd look really stretched or it would have too much potential to clip her model or just otherwise do weird things. This is not something we should be upset about - her dress and the animations that use it are REALLY GOOD and much improved over what they used to be - so it's something we need to get used to. I understand your points, but I'm willing to sacrifice the poofiness of her dress in lieu of the amazing way it's been animated now.

On that note, the detailing on her dresses is plain and small BECAUSE of the new animations. When you stretch a virtual object, such as when a fabric shifts in shape as often as her dress, details and textures on that dress will stretch out with the dress model and warp and look really weird. They went the simple route here to avoid that kind of visual pothole, so that there are super simple textures that won't show warping really badly when her dress is in motion.

These are all valid complaints aside from the mouth part:

Most Champions don't lip sync, or even have facial expressions. Because of the top-down perspective of the game, minute details like that would be lost in the action so it's not worth making them. It's inferred that the champion is speaking through body language (if its a taunt or something) or by them just talking since we as players already know that a champion is speaking regardless of mouth movement.

The only champ that moves her mouth when she speaks is Poppy. Champs with big heads or extremely expressive faces change expressions but do not lipsync. Even Zoe, who has a huge head, doesn't actually lipsync when she talks.

Theres a lot of inconsistencies and things I also dont like about it: Her shackled wings in ghost bride dont even match the other wings. I hate how the wings look like a tail and the fact that they changed how the Q looks but not the icon. It took me days to realize that the thingy that is behind her is pair of wings. That looks like a fluffy tail.

I'm on the same page :( Idk if it is due to releasing 2 reworks at the same time so the little sis is "shadowed" by the real reworked bigger sis. Same thing with the ability icon. The Q and E look different now so I really hope they can update those icons like they did to the ultimate icon. It can't be too much work can it? :(

I think the bright blue color on ghostbride comes from the roses she has in her hair. I quite like it but i simply like radiant blue roses so i might be biased. Everything else though, spot on. Most of it, i think, can be tweaked with brighter/darker colors and som texturework. Like Bewitching morganas dress. In my opinion it just needs better pronounced details. As do the chained wings, so they actually look like wings and not a tail.

It's no coincidence that just like SG Soraka, Morgana also has butt wings, is it? I don't understand this fetish of Riot putting butt wings on their characters, it just isn't an interesting design to me. Infact when I see something like a pair of wings put so far back on a quadrupedal animal that it looks like the wings are right above the butt, I can't help but want to change it. They should be closer to the shoulders.

She didn't get new ability icons that looked nice, or a new ghost bride splash (which was the one thing I was looking forward to). Plus blackthorn has a disappointing recall where she just leaps through the tree because its her base recall at the end.

I agree completely, also really disappointed that exiled morgana does not have red effects, they specifically changed that when it was released because they agreed it matched and looked so much better with red, and I bought that skin when it came out too =[
