What needs to happen with the LOl Lore ASAP

[Serious] Regarding lore * /r/leagueoflegends
  1. What is the lore, currently? The current lore is actually not bad. But it's missing a lot. The base right now is mainly: Valoran. Runeterra. A bunch of cities and factions all around this so called Runeterra. The champions are legendary individuals, with weapons, power, strenght, knowledge, etc. Some do fight each other inside the lore (i.e. Noxians and Demacians), but there's no real explanation for the fight happening within the actual game. And honestly, Riot's right, there's no reason for explaining in the MOBA LoL currently is. In case some of you don't know, the reason there's no actual League of Legends ingame-lore, a tl;dr would be that, limiting champions to be called to fight at the league was making it so they couldn't be "free" enough with each champion. They were right, taking the League away leaves a lot of creative space for new lore. The problem is; we're currently not getting any new lore.
  2. Without the League, Summoners and the Institute of War, what should be fixed? A lot. But Riot already know about this, as they were requesting suggestions for fixing some champions lore such as Fiddlesticks's (His lore is pretty much him being a random spooky being who was sealed alone inside a secret chamber of the Institute, serving as some sort of executioner) and Jax's (The reason he uses a lamp post instead of a real weapon is thanks to the fact the League considered it unfair if he used a real weapon, 2stronk). The real problem lies in something that's been occurring way before the Institute and everything else was taken away, which leads me to the third topic.
  3. Lore is always being left "incomplete." We feel like we'll have "sequels" to our current "book", but we never do get them. A quick example of a "book" who received a "sequel" is Rengar. He was released with a rather interesting lore, which told us about a certain alien creature, with huge scything claws and an insatiable hunger. At the time, we all tought it was Cho'Gath. But then, Syndra got released, and after her, Kha'Zix. It was such a cool feeling, watching as an actual story took place, a nemesis of a current champion being released. I'm pretty sure i'm not the only one who felt this, and i really wish new players could feel the same way one day. Another example, by the way, is Tryndamere. His lore got reworked, and this new lore now talked about a dark figure, wielding a living sword and an unhinged thirst for blood. This being poured rage into Tryndamere's heart, making him the undying barbarian he currently is. Months later, a random thread appeared in the forums, posted by "Ezreal", the champion, not the Rioter. He interacted with users and slowly told us about relics and tales of said dark being. A couple of days later, Aatrox was released. With one of my favorite designs (Seriously, his ingame look is amazing, i wish he were more meta so we could see him more often), everything was great. But Aatrox had a bit of the flaws i want to talk about. His lore told us of five remaining legendary warriors of an ancient race known as the Darkin. This was 2 years ago. When Aatrox got released, i was almost sure we would have a new Darkin released the following year (2014), but that didn't happen. Well, mind you, this single line, "only one of five that remain" made a lot of people brainstorm upon loads and loads of ideas and theories. It was not the first time, but at least for me, it was a really unique moment. There were a lot of cool and creative theories on who these Darkin were, saying that perhaps, Aatrox was not the first Darkin released. Theories that i love to this day such as Varus's corruption-bow being a Darkin that is slowly taking over Varus (remember his quote, "i'm on borrowed time"?) to turn him into a proper Darkin vessel. What if Aatrox is actually the sword - which in turn, is possessing the "body" we see as Aatrox. Aatrox never really talks about his sword, which is strange considering his sword is alive, is his main weapon, etc. See? And these theories are really healthy for the community and the game, you know? But at this point, we're being left to dry here and there (not always, but we are). We were promised great lore (Such as Xerath's and Azir's full lore, they are amazing) but we haven't quite gotten our grasp on them atm. What we do have, are masterpieces such as Ekko's reveal, Bard's cinematic, the Frequencies film, the Curse of the Sad Mummy clip, Rek'Sai's reveal, the Terror Beneath, Kalista's Pledge cinematic, A New Dawn and many others. They are great, they really do fill a hole on our lore-hungry chests. But... When you realize, that hole is empty again. Back to the beginning, shall we? We need sequels for the books. Azir's Ascension and release opened up a huge page for Valoran's story to unfold, but i fear it will be left to gather dust for a while. The Shadow Isles are a mysterious place with a dark, secret past who could totally be worked on. There was a kingdom there, once, that's a fact! But the King ordered sorceres to crack the barrier between life and death, and caused the great darkness to fall upon the once vivid land. Imagine if Mordekaiser was that King, Hecarim a general, and Kalista the King's guard? If Kalista saw what would happen, tried to make it stop, but Mordekaiser, seeking to see, i don't know, his deceased daughter, and ordered Hecarim to kill her before she could make it all stop. The result could be that the greater souls would then turn into supernatural beings filled with power based on what they once were. And this is all something i just tought of after thinking "what happened?". But if you look at certain champions, you'll see how much could be expanded, either by new champions, cinematics (that wouldn't be only to reveal new champions), etc. Nami's people, the other Darkins, the creature that killed Gnar's people, the assassin that killed Yasuo's elder, Jinx's sister and Vi's apparent loss of memory regarding her sister, Lissandra's Watchers, the origins of Nocturne and Fiddlesticks, what corrupted Nautilus, Riven's fate, Skarner's kind, Le Blanc's Black Rose cult and Darkwill - an important Noxian character, Kog'Maw's daddy, Kassadin's daughter, and a lot more. There's so much to be expanded, so much that was left and forgotten, never being touched on again. If you did take your time to read everything, thank you. TL;DR: I encourage you to read everything, but i'm basically saying Riot's gotten an habit in the last 4 years of starting something and not finishing it when it comes to the lore, and i'm not talking about the "2 sentence lore" we currently have, at this point anyone who complains about that should know the reasons behind it.

I agree with most of this. There's too many open questions that have never been answered.... it's getting to the point where it's simply just being borderline laziness....

Also, the problem with getting rid of the institution and league and all that shit, it doesn't really explain the Void now at all...
