Question about the Vastaya.

So in the journal Eduard says that the Vastaya are the result of humans crossing with a shape shifting race (Vastayashai'rei), and that eventually tribes from this combination started to settle in different places adapting their shapes to those places, then Eduard meets these shapeshifting man who seems to have some vastayan blood.

So my question is. Is every vastaya able to shapeshift or some tribes have lost that ability and only inherit the shape their ancestors chose?

Or maybe they are born with a "default" shape but they are still able to shapeshift.

In other words, can Nami or Rengar still shapeshift?

It's implied that vastaya can somewhat change specific aspects about themselves, but full blown changing in to another form is something I'd find unlikely.

I don't think all Vastaya can shapeshift, but they can derive certain magical powers.

Rengar can turn invisible, for instance.

The shapeshifters are like the long lost siblings of the Vastaya. However unlike the Vastaya the shapeshifters did not retain the ability to take on a chimeric form to adapt to their environs, however this meant that they retained instead, the Vastayashai'rei's ability to completely change shape, however restricted to a singular form as shown with Shai the shapeshifter in Eduard's journal logs. The "speculated" shapeshifters are Nidalee and Swain.
