Ekko needed some lore, so I stepped in

Ekko is a boy stuck in time. Three ticks of a watch follow his every movement, all mistakes can be undone by the machine that is strapped to his back. All except the mistakes that led to him becoming an orphan, a street rat. Haunted by his past he seeks a way to return to his family, to go to the past and undo the tragedy that he blames himself for.

A boy of brilliance and tenacity, he thrived on the streets through caution and quick wit. Ekko was never the biggest or strongest, and so confrontation was an indulgence he could never afford. After years on the streets he couldn't bear just to survive anymore, he couldn't live with the guilt that his mistakes wrought, and so he began researching incessantly. Pilfering books, stealing time at the library, peering into the windows of world-renowned scientists such as Jayce and Viktor. Ekko had gained the rudimentary knowledge of time travel through his persistence.

The knowledge alone wasn't enough, though. Ekko knew he needed a prototype. This wasn't just an academic endeavor, this was the path to change his world, to rid him of the trauma that warped his idea of time as linear. And so slowly, gradually, just enough so it would escape notice, Ekko began to take a part here and there from Viktor's laboratories, to formulate a working protoype.

Time passes quickly when given a goal, and so Ekko stood with his machine strapped to his back, his sword held tight. Vowing to keep pressing forward, to ignore his past tendencies to avoid confrontation, Ekko stood before his first test run – the half-mechanical monstrosity Viktor had sent to collect his dues.

“I may be a kid, but I've lived 1000 more lifetimes than you.” - Ekko

I wrote this as an amateur writer after noticing a distinct lack of lore for him as announced so far. It seemed like people were a bit upset about it in the reveal comments, and I really love the character design, so I ran with it. I might do more if there's interest, as it disappoints me how the lore team seems neglected over at Riot for the time being. I studied his video, Riot's previous lore, Jayce and Viktor's lore, and what little they did reveal about Ekko. Thanks for reading.

No offense, great job but sounds a little cliché.

It does, but at least you tried - which is more than we can say for Riot (ONCE AGAIN). 50% of the champ's lore is "RAWR <champname>!"
