Kayn's SoulHunter release skin

The hat of his Shadow Assassin form looks neat and cool, but going with the thematics it being "Soul Hunter" and/or "Shadow Assassin" it does seem to fit right. Like the hat screams wizard with a scythe, rather than an shadow assassin or a soul hunter IMO

Can someone explain the reasoning behind the design in the hat?

To me, personally, it looks like one massive Bloodborne reference. That's just for the Shadow Assassin part, though, I'm not getting that kind of feeling from the rest of the skin.

That's just me though.

The skin is a direct reference to the Soul Eater manga/anime, which is where the witchy aesthetic comes from (A lot of witches in Soul Eater). The entire story is about sentient weapons and their wielders, and the main characters are a girl and her sentient scythe.

I think base skin looks a lot cooler. Rhaast form is awesome imo, especially the scythe, it's very Soul Calibur.

So, we have 5 Darksoul/Bloodborne skins.

Kayle, Singed, Nocturne, Yorick, and now Kayn

BTW, does anyone remember how one of the reds explaining the backstory for the skins mentioned a "hunter" seeking to destroy said said "storybook" monsters.
