I'm not a complainer. But It seems to me that new icons have too much contrast. They seem to be less friendly, less bright, oiled up and becomes "Scary". Except Lee Sin's portrait becomes better.
Rengar without mane. Zilean, Cho'Gath and Graves has a dark, oily face. Viktor has oil on his mask. Kogmaw and Renek look scary.

I guess Riot want to polish them but they actually do not look better. If this really happens, I will stop to care too much about this game. To haters, yes I am just a complainer. But what was done with the portraits is just a coloring preference from some Riot employees.
