Stop using the "They have too many skins already" arguement

Disclaimer: This does not mean skins in a short periods of time aka draven and gnar having 3 skins within a single year, that is a perfectly valid reason.

I really dislike when people use this excuse. Yes, some champions have quite a few skins but that doesnt mean riot should stop making skins for them. If a champion has a lot of older skins (Say Annie, is one of the oldest champions if i recall) suddenly stopped receiving skins, their player base would be stuck with older, far outdated skins. We already have a lot of skins that need updating, as well as players (and Rioters) being sad because there are so many unexplored ideas for champion skins but they cant give them it because "Oh they already have 10 skins".

Its a silly argument. Yes, i understand why some people think about the recent Arcade Ahri but keep in mind her last skin has been about a year ago, a year isnt that unreasonable of a timeframe. She is also a fairly easy champion to make a skin for because of her design as well as she is a fan favorite.

As for champs like Galio, Swain, and Eve, they are due for VGU's and because of that seems like a waste to have resourses poured into a skin that will get its particles changed on thier VGU. I get the frustration but thier time will come.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; the only time a champion can be defined as having "too many skins" is when said skins start to cannibalize each other's concepts. That has yet to happen to an individual champion in League.

On another point, let's use Annie as a case study. Most skins in the game, so she has too many right? She has four legacy skins, so they can't be accessed all the time, six skins that are priced at 750 rp or under, meaning they're a remodel and that's it, one that's only available through hextech crafting, so good luck getting that, and is one of the original 20 champions who were in the game since it was made available for testing in its beta, meaning she's had more chances than just about anyone else to have skins.

Complaining about someone having too many skins is a nonsensical argument. Of course it's bothersome to many when champions like Gnar and Draven get large amounts of skins in an extremely short space of time relative to other champions, but that's it's own argument.

If a champion has a lot of older skins (Say Annie, is one of the oldest champions if i recall) suddenly stopped receiving skins, their player base would be stuck with older, far outdated skins.

Or Twitch, who did stop receiving skins and most of his older, outdated skins aren't even available most of the time.

Its a silly argument. Yes, i understand why some people think about the recent Arcade Ahri but keep in mind her last skin has been about a year ago, a year isnt that unreasonable of a timeframe.

I think this argument isn't really too many skins but rather that other champions have too little. Excluding recently released champions, some champions that are not even on the VGU list have had their playerbase feeling ignored by the Skins department because of this skin discrepancy (an example would be Viktor, who is currently popular and meta). That feeling of being forgotten by the "creates champ swag" department is why you get the "too many skins" argument posted in the boards.

I understand that certain champions can fill more skin fantasies than others but that doesn't mean leaving these skin-deprived champs that don't need VGUs out to dry. If Riot could recognize this then maybe some of the boards drama could be resolved.

It depends for me really. As someone posted earlier in the case of arcade ahri, she has 5 skins currently out, 3 are 975 and 2 are 750, while she also has a championship ahri skin which (i think) is 1350.

Meanwhile Viktor, who was legitamitely the champion released immediately after her has 2 available skins 1 at 1350 and 1 at 975 , and one legacy skin whose cost I believe was only 520 when they re-released it. The argument for me isn't that they have to many skins so they shouldn't get any more, its that they have to many skins compared to champions released at similar times so they should be sidelined for a bit while those other champs get some.

I don't know if Galio would be getting a full VGU. The Vanguard update is estimated to be next year and his model is fine aside from needing some better textures. If the Vanguard update happens next year, then he will likely be one of the focused champs.

But yea, amount of skins is a very unreasonable argument. If MonkeyKing didn't get his yearly skin on top of the fact he hasn't received any buffs/nerfs in over 2 years, I would be accusing Rito of forgetting he exists :p (though for future reference, it would be appreciated if he doesn't get a 5th journey to the west themed skin) Also in Ahri's defense, this will be her first 1350 RP skin, everything else has been 975 or lower.

except academy ahri was out less than a year ago so why does she get a skin when other champs have waited more than a year are still in line?
