A few questions about Vayne the Night Hunter

Hello guys,

As you can tell from my Summoner name, Vayne is my most favourite champion and I love drawing fanart and short comics, making up cool little stories with her. I was very excited and hyped for the Demacia event and I absolutely loved everything in the lore and color story update that Vayne received. However, when the Demacia QnA took place I felt it would be impossible for my asks to get noticed. So, now I made this Discussion in order to ask and see if I can learn a few more things about her.

  1. Would Vayne participate in helping during Harrowing?
  2. I know she might be an individualist but would Vayne ever consider an alliance with people like Lucian, Shen, Tryndamere, Kassadin. People who hunt monsters like her.
  3. What would the people (that I listed above) think of Vayne?
  4. Does she take trophies with her?
  5. In both Vayne's lore and story, both monster ladies are described as unbelievably beautiful. Why is noting their beauty so important? Does is mean that Vayne finds attraction to them even though, killing them is greater pleasure? Some guys also asked her hand but, she was indifferent. Does she find both sexes attractive? (whether she does or not doesn't matter in the end because she is monster-slaying-mage-killsexual but I found it interesting and still want to know)
  6. Are the bats her bat-children? (crazy bat-lady... oh wait that sounds like an April Fools skin)
  7. Do you think that Vayne can be saved? It seems to me as if the path she is taking is leading her to a bad and tragic ending
  8. Will we get to see her in more stories in the future?
  9. What does 'I smell black magics' really mean? Was she trained to smell magic? Is she able to see things beyond what common people can see? I assume that for a person who meddles with the dark or with magic would get to that point. (I think)
  10. It's obvious Vayne loves having fun, making reckless decisions because she is a fight junkie but, imagine if she got serious. That idea makes me hyped. What if on one hunt she realises her enemy is pretty strong and has to tryhard? How strong is Vayne exactly? Where would you put her in terms of lethal human champions terms? Would you put her next to someone like Darius for example?

Well, I think ten questions should be enough. :D I will be glad to discuss with everyone about what they think about Vayne and if they feel there are more questions to answer about her. Thank you very much for your time! 8)

OK I am not Sharjo so I can't say I am an expert but I am a fan of the lore and would like to give you my thoughts on these matters.

  1. Vayne would most likely participate in the Harrowing trying to kill as many as possible, she would probably shiver in joy at the possibility of it (depends on how deep her sadistic side is), yet I also feel like she prefers the hunting and tracking of them rather than straight out combat.

  2. This question would depend more on the lore and how it shapes up to be at the moment but for right now I feel like she is a truly only works Solo and would not want to join with others, especially those that also use magic (Shen, Kassadin) as how she hates it so much she killed her teacher. As for Lucian and Tryndamere, I think they are a bit nobler than her and might view her tactics a bit... much. Though I don't mean to insult Vayne in any way her methods do seem a bit extream.

  3. I think they might question her in many ways and might think of her as crazy, the closest parallel I can think of is how everyone in Marvel comics treats The Punisher, as a nutjob yet extremely skilled.

  4. I would not be surprised if she did but would think they would be little things, a memento more than a trophy.

  5. I would say she is more focused like a hunter, a hunter watches their kill with beauty and wonder, appreciating their kill, (though in a personal note I also did find it a bit interesting and kinda like to imagine she is a lesbian, at the moment head-cannon only)

  6. I find it's just pure aesthetics.

  7. At the moment... No, but I don't really want to see her go down a path of ruination like many others, I find if she finds someone that has lost like her like let's say Lucian then maybe there's a chance, but killing your teacher/mother figure is a big jump to make that is hard to come from.

  8. I am always eager to read more of the LORE and hers can be a bit interesting.

  9. I think it's just a detective saying like you know " I smell foul play", she was originally based on Batman, though I am pretty sure they changed her to be more like The Punisher

  10.   1. Harrowings, unlike the Halloween, can happen in any moment, in any place... they are like a natural disaster. So, she cant simply "go to the place where the Harrowing happens" and help... because no one knows when or where it can happen.

But, sure, Is safe to say that she would help if a Harrowing happens in a place where she is.

  1. I dont remember the answer 100%, but Riot said that she preffers to work alone or something like that...

  2. As far as i know, the "Bats" are only particle effects that are not canon, she cant summon them or anything like that.

  3. Its a way of saying "I feel that there is someone using black magics in this place" or something like that. Not literal.

Okay, this are my personal headcanons, take them or don't, I don't care.

  1. As Ebonmaw Dragon stated, the Harrowing has not a fixed date and location. If Vayne would be caught in this time, sure, she would kill as many as possible. However, she probably wouldn't actively seek it out like Lucian. Vayne probably prefers to kill magic user and monsters, undeads are less likely on her radar.

  2. Vayne prefers to work alone and after Frey's "betray", she probably is highly paranoid and won't trust anyone anymore. For the "higher good" she probably could work with Lucians order as well, but I think they wouldn't really trust her, since Vayne loyality only belongs to herself.

  3. I think you can easily describe Vayne as ice - pretty to look at, but you REALLY don't wanna have it anywhere near to you. Aesthetic speaking Vayne is probably incredible gorgeous and aristocratic, but she is as cold as ice. Everythink about her basically scream, don't come near me. There is no warmth, no empathy in her.

  4. I could imagine she does it. One of my personal headcanon was always she had a big collection of magical artifacts, which she keep away from the public.

  5. She probably has an eye for aesthetic, considere she is a noble. Personally, I see her as bisexual aromantic, she does enjoy looks and maybe feels even some sexual attraction, however she has probably no desire to get in any meaningful releationship.

  6. I think the bats are only visual.

  7. I think, Vayne probably will end ever dead, corrupted or commit suicide. If Vayne suddenly stop seeing her world in her black-white world-viewing, the sheer guilt of killiing so many possible innocent people would drive her into the suicide.

  8. No idea, I always hope for Vayne and Black Rose stuff, but this probably never gonna happen.

  9. It is probably a metaphor, however magic probably leaves some kind of traces, which she can notice. If she can smell it? I doubt it, but it could depend on the kind of magic.

  10. Vayne' strengh is not pure strengh. Someone like Darius and Garen could easily defeat her in such case. I see her like Quinn - her strengh lies in her agility and mobility. She is setting up her fight, she prefers to work in the shdow and use it to her advantage. Her fighting stlye in this case is don't getting hit and using precise strikes to take her oppoment out. However, I think Quinn is able to fight not much worse in close combat as well, there Vayne would definitely struggle.

1.She would likely try to kill the undead,but she likely wouldn't try to help anyone.She merely wants to hunt evil beings for her own amusement,if she saves someone in th process,then its likely more of a side effect.
