I hope this is the right section...
Ultimate is screaming for a visual upgrade/change since his rework has taken place. We were said that some work was going on but months have passed and no news. I wanted to know if there is still work/brainstorming around that.

would like a word with you if you're talking about VU.
Stars Shaper1 votesCan't say anything against that.
But current Xerath Ultimate was a placeholder because they couldn't find anything that would work and used the small unimpactful meteors (bubbles) which was used for a previous iteration of his rework where his ultimate was similar (he still rooted himself) and his AA became a huge range bombardment using those kind of visuals.
This is why I'm asking what's happening about it. I have my own suggestion if they are still working on it and are in the brainstorming phase.
