I love the Blood Moon skin line, I think the Blood Moon skins are the best ones of Shen and Akali respectively. I also like the overall design of the three new Blood Moon skins (except Elises mask), but I feel the colors don't match the theme at all. When you look at a Blood Moon skin I expect red to be the most dominant color, followed by white highlights.

But all of the new ones are about different colors, please look at the attachment and compare:

Kalista is purple/dark blue-grey, her hair is light blueish like her hands/gloves. Only the mask is kind of white, and the horns and bracers are the only thing red about her. How to improve her: delete purple, make the armor and hands blood red, the hair white white like threshs, the pants and top night-black.

Thresh is dark/golden, the red looks more like crystal/ruby than blood. The Mask and hair looks alright, but why are the eyes purple?! How to improve him: reduce gold, add white instead, change the existing red to a blood tone and add more of it to the armor. Also, red eyes.

Elise is a pale pink/golden with pale skin colour and blue highlights on the hands and spider-legs. It matches the skin line the least. How to improve her: blood red dress like akalis, black or white spider legs and more colorful tones, right now it's much too pale.

I wish I could illustrate the looks I imagine with photoshop, but unfortunately I'm not very good with it.

Please, I adore the ionian design of the models, I love the braided belts, demon masks, eastern culture influences, but please change the colors :( Right now, none of the new ones deserve the label "blood" and I feel kind of helpless, because I love your art but I would do a lot of things differently.

PS: Sorry for the provocative title ;)

tl;dr: change color palette of new blood moon skins from all kinds of colors to blood red & white like it should be, so the skins deserve their name.

I believe the coloring makes sense the way it is now. Akali and Shen are people who might actually put on a telling of the Blood Moon, Kalista, Thresh, and Elise would have no real knowledge of it's background. For them I believe they are different incarnations of the story's theme's and antagonists. Their characters don't correctly align with the story at all to begin with. I'm honestly surprised Elise is pink but I feel like Thresh and Kalista's colors are very justified. Especially when you think about the fact that in the past skins had very minimal color pallets and it makes a lot of sense to have some differing colors instead of just blobs of red and white when you scroll out.

I really like Elise's coloring even though that one for sure doesn't seem like it matches the color scheme.

Overall I don't mind a bit diversity in terms of colours I mean look at shen and akali the two original blood moon skins. Shens is a much darker red than the others and the only thing white about him is the mask, aside from that he is all red with a bit black and silver. So yeah there are differences even among the original 2 skins. In fact I'd say the only trademarks are " a white mask" and "red clothing",and except for elise they all fit into that.

It actually bugs me how the BC-skin line is almost completely made of dark grey and red/orange,which is why i am ok with this.

However I agree that elise should have some red on her,in both forms.

Yeah, but they're still red, not purple and pink T_T

This has been discussed before, and sadly, Riot has only come with silly excuses as to why they went for the pink hues and dull colours for the Elise and Zilean skins.

The argumentation for pink over red for Blood Moon Elise was that a red skin would be too close to her base skin, which is poor argumentation as that skin is mostly black with red details in both forms, whereas Blood Moon Elise has gold and blue details in addition to the base colour pink.

For Zilean, they wanted muted colours to stay in line with the "new" colour palette of the game in general after the rework of Summoner's Rift. Here is a suggestion I posted for a change, but they ignored it: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v709/stigtrix/Blood%20Moon%20Zilean%20-%20Front%20-%201.4_zpsbzqx8fjb.png I can see no clear reds, only faded red/orange : / The fierceness is lost because of the dull colours, and his eyes are almost invisible.

Riot fails to focus on clarity and consistence, even though they claim to strive for it. They have for example said no to red effects, as they are hard to spot when you have enemies with red effects, only to later make red effects for some champions. No red spirit blade for Blood Moon Shen, but it is somehow justified to give Forsaken Jayce red effects. To add insult to injury, all of Shen's spirit blades are blue, regardless of the side he is on in relevance to you.
