League of Legends: An Animated Series

One of the draws that this game has for me and many others is the rich, interactive, and intricate lore. Seriously, the lore behind Runeterra and its many champions is deeper then most tv or movie universes, not to mention most anime. The sheer amount of characters alone, and their relationships/interactions, are compelling to the point that they spark mini-games within League of Legends itself ( and ; , , and , etc). So why not have a tv show? There's obviously too much content to limit to a feature length movie. At a time where anime is becoming more mainstream in the west, people of all ages are becoming more attracted to franchises like Marvel/DC, quality animation is becoming cheaper and easier to produce (with streaming companies like Hulu, Netflix, and Crunchyroll are all competing for big name titles), and with LoL gaining more widespread recognition in mainstream culture, why not unleash the vast world of Runeterra and all its potential in an anime/animated adventure? If done well, and publicized skillfully, it would attract a much larger player base; open up new ideas for game modes, mini games, concept art, and cosplay; even attract greater in-game financing as the show would no doubt spark new skins, wards, icons, or even other avenues of revenue that haven't been explored yet. One cannot forget the thousands of skilled fans who would more then likely lend their various skills to such a momentous task, and input all the passion they currently direct to their cosplay/animated shorts/short stories-etc.

The content would be vast as well, with various episodes delving into all genres. Any episode with Fiddlesticks or Nocturne would have to dip their toes into horror, while Kled or Ivern's antics would have the audience busting their sides with laughter. The landscape of Runeterra even provides structure for basic plot points. For example: Lets say Ezreal is the main character, with Jayce as the elder/adviser, and Lux as the romantic interest (Spellthief Lux anyone?). Freljord would make an interesting first season, with a host of colorful characters from all over the spectrum. Then say the Ionian Conquest would be season 2 possibly 2 + 3, dragging in Noxus, Demacia, and Ionia... ect, ect. Like I said, there's so much story potential here, you could beat out Bleach or the Naruto series in sheer number of episodes and movies. So... all that to say, why hasn't this happened? Or even been seriously discussed with fans? Does anyone else have any specific characters, places, battles, or "episodes" you'd love to see on a screen near you? Who do YOU think would be an ideal main character for a LOL animated series?
