We need a bit more "Positive" forces here.

Reading a thread about "What can a victim of all evil forces (Black Ice, Void, Black Mist, Darkin) be?" I was thinking what would happen if the opposite happened... But then I realized that there are not really positive forces in Runeterra or the surroinding universe.

With the exception of Nagakabouros, which can be opposed to the Black Mist as a force of pure life, there is really nothing that provides the "good guys" vibe. Cosmic magic wielded by Aurelion Sol, Targonians and Ascended has been the opposition for the Void but not as a principle of order vs chaos but rather because of its extreme power level. We don't have anything i. e. the "Light" as in Warcraft (waiting for Kayle rework though) even if we have Light Guns.

We do have the Waters of Life in the Blessed Isles. The Oasis of Dawn in Shurima (which may in fact be the same thing). The Godwillow of Ionia (also might be the same thing). There's also the natural spirit magic of the Vastaya, but opinions may vary on how "good" this actually is.

Most of the naturally energies of Runeterra are neutral. Good and evil are applied to how people use them. Is Black Ice really evil or is Lissandra just evil? Is the Void actually evil, or is it just destructive?

The thing is that all these are either neutral or evil, there is no good except the life-giving properties of some things. The only good entity seems to be The Protector who now granted his powers to Taric but that's really all.

There is no ordering force opposing the Void destructiveness, no light vs darkness only anti magic vs necromancy and some 100 shades of grey in Piltover where Techmaturgy is from the poor Brackern crystals. I don't know if they want to change the Darkin from malevolent demon-like race into a "we invaded Runetrra because bad mages tore our home planet apart" thing but even them rely on corruption and overwhelming destruction powers.

I don't want to bring religion in here but look at how The Light is portrayed in Warcraft (yeah I know I keep referring to this), even with the attempts at making it looking less cool than Demonic/Elven hybrid edgelord stormrage it still is something that shares traits with what we usually refer to as a godsend peace/will and the Force in Star Wars.

Well I have knowledge of Warcraft, so at lot of what you just said was lost on me, but the Force of Star Wars is supposed to be a balance of all things, not overtly good or evil. People can use the Force for good or for evil, but the Force itself is neutral.

All of those things I listed in my first comment are sources of life. If that doesn't make them "good" in your opinion, then what would?

The Light is basically Holy Power but is similar to the Force because it’s something that is present in every1 (except undead and dark creatures who are burnt by it).

Edit: a lifegiving force is ok to oppose the necromantic Black Mist but that's all we got as Nagakabouros and what you listed as sources of life are just "tools", not entities or powers you can use.

As I said before there is no "ordering" force against the Void nor some kind of angel-like race to oppose the demon-lik Darkin (though I'm waiting for Kayle rework to have the last word on that).

Now, I don't want to bring Runeterra in a black&white dicotomy, I like dwelling in the grey zone especially when mortal affairs and demigods are at hand. But I'd like to have some sort of balance between what's threatening to destroy us and what can be a beacon of hope.

I'm assuming the lack of powerful positive forces is due to the amount of good-aligned characters we have in the lore that will probably rise up to fight the evils of Runeterra. This makes for a nice "against the odds" storyline when Riot actually progresses the lore when they finish worldbuilding.

We had the Institute of War, which was more order than good, but that's history now. The reason why Riot removed it was because they were all-powerful and could realistically shut down the Void or the Shadow Isles at any time, so I doubt they're going to introduce a powerful good force on the same level as some of the threats we've seen.

Yes but it wouldn't be bad to have a sort of superior and good force/race ppl can stand with. If not just for a sense of balance.

Not exactly a "force" per se, but it seems like yordles kind of fit the description? From what little we have to go on at the moment, they seem to be embodiments of virtues and ideals. Sure, some can be a little, ah, destructive ( Kled ), but for the most part they seem benevolent. They kinda seem like the antithesis to demons, in a way.

Still more on the neutral-spirit side, tendency to me either mad or evil is still a thing for them and what they have in common (except Poppy who is incredibly serious) is being cheerful in what they do.
