Evelynn Login Screen

Alright, I am anticipating being down voted to oblivion for this one, but I'm hoping a dev sees it and it sparks a good discussion over at Rito.

I have been playing League since season 4. I have always enjoyed the game, and still do. Since starting to play, I have gotten married and have a family. I am very careful about the media that I have in my home. This is why I was discouraged by the Evelynn login screen that they released.

I understand the player base, I understand that my views are likely WAY more conservative than most of the players, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be heard.

I feel like having a login screen that is that...provocative...and having it be the only thing that the players can choose to look at when they start the game is not the best choice from a PR perspective.

I would love to see an option to turn splash arts and login screens family friendly. An option to have a login screen that is generic and benign. Additionally (though I know this is a long shot) I think it would be great to have an option to toggle off splash arts that are significantly revealing. (Evelynn ,Janna ,Morgana ,Nidalee ,Zyra ,Sona , just to list a few) In game those skins are barely noticeable as the size of the characters and the action keep the focus on other things. Mainly I'm thinking of loading screens and in the client. Almost like parental controls, as silly as that sounds.

Again, I know this is definitely not a popular opinion, and this is probably pretty low on any of the Riot employees list of concerns, but it would make me and I'm sure at least one other person happy to feel like they don't have to worry about what their wife or kids sees when they walk in on them unwinding after a day of work.

As League has been out for quite a few years now, they have to realize that there is a good portion of their player base that is growing up, getting married, and starting life, but doesn't want to loose out on this game that has been so much fun and been the medium in which so many memories have been created. I think this change would be a good step toward retaining some of us players who are still kids at heart, though they have little kids of their own.

Alright, let the downvotes roll. item 3742

I'm strongly against our cultural fear of sexuality, but I understand not everyone feels that way.

I don't feel this is an issue personally. You typically see the login screen for maybe like 10 seconds before you login and the loading screen for like a minute (unless someone has a potato plugged into a monitor for a computer). Also how the hell is Sona 's splash art revealing like shes showing some shoulder but other than that she's fully clothed.

I am totally for this. I had the exact same thoughts so I searched and found your post. Riot you can do this.

I'm with OP on this one. The coding needed to allow users to pick old (or even custom!!) log-in screens would be a snap. Everyone in this world has a different set of convictions so pandering to all users' sexual desires, sexual integrity, or their desire to see League's champions as RITO envisioned them is easily obtainable here.

This line of thinking takes me back to the Dark Star screen. Freakin EPIC login screen that caused petite mal seizures in an EXTREMELY small subset of the user base. Clearly a major health issue for those few. Fix it! RITO very quickly changed the screen for all users to solve the problem. A very large majority of users "suffered" (if I can be dramatic here) because their brains are not derped up by rave lights like some poor saps are. Yet life moved on. [zombie-nunu-tears]

Add in the above-mentioned feature request and all profit! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Allow me to continue my line of logic since I'm feeling peppy. (I will carefully navigate around sex and religion to stay within the boundaries of the board's universal rules). [slayer-pantheon-rainbows]

The Evelyn screen may induce "moral seizures" in some users if you will. To explain this unconventional analogy, some users desire to live according to family-friendly values, self-imposed values/goals, or to obey the Word of God. Going through the Evelyn screen is dangerous because of her suggestive pose and lack of proper clothing. RITO's "valiant effort to deliver accurate assets to support the game's vision" (again being a bit dramatic) may cause some to "seize" against certain convictions or values. As an example, this may unwittingly present adult content to a child who happens to walk through while the game is updating. <truth> As a Western society we are branching away from some of the moral values our ancestors held especially with regards to the ramifications of creation and consumption of sex </truth>. RITO actually has negative incentive to protect the small subset of the user base (well actually the whole user base if I can be so bold) from these "moral seizures" because sex sells. Really well. Like hotcakes at fat camp.

Add in the above-mentioned feature request and all users profit. Heck, since I'm dreaming here, why not allow users to create screens with or without animations and then get voted on. Those that are most popular could be added to the Store for purchasing. [slayer-jinx-catface]
