I'd also like to point out that Riot's been pointing a lot towards bizarre flora lately, with Ahri's color story about the Garden of Forgetting, and Ezreal's acid trip with the flowers that made him have an out of body experience when he was in Kumungu. I doubt this next mage has anything to do with a painter, especially considering the teaser image shows a flower...

I don't want a character shoehorned into the game mainly there to prop up and expose the behaviors of more important characters Ahri Vladimir

Isn't Maura dead? And not in the Shadow Isles kind of way. I know the story doesn't explicitly say so, but it's heavily implied. Not every character mentioned has to become a champion, and Maura doesn't strike me as someone capable of fighting to begin with.
