This is the same. Buy chest -> chances for random stuff -> combine random stuff into other random stuff -> get chest that gives you random stuff.

I know they say that they haven't worked on the feature on the new client yet but i really wish they could tell us what makes the process so long/hard so at least we can give them an excuse.

Laughing Fish5 votesNo its not. You could buy things with IP in snowdown. Granted some of the premium items were behind a paywall (which is perfectly fair), but you could still get some items with IP. This time, you buy chests for 250 RP, and get a random set of relics. If you gather enough relics you can buy a skin shard (not a skin, a shard), a random mystery skin, or a gem (depending on which relics). So maybe you get lucky and get 2 mystery skin after only spending 500 RP, maybe you don't and need to spend more RP to get anything at all. It is purely a gamble, and a gamble that takes money.

Because the way these past events has been presented, they are 10/10 incentives to gambling as far as I can tell.
Ravenhale5 votesNo reason to complain in Snowdown. There were mystery chests for 490 RP that would guarantee an unowned skin for a champion you already own. Considering I have a 1 in 10 chance of getting a shard for an unowned skin for a champion I own, I can't justify the gamble.

Placentas1 votesSnowdown the chests were also themed such as robot skins, space skins, food skins, etc and you could see what potential shards you get before purchasing the chests. With this it's completely random it's better to save rp for self mystery gifting
