Splash Art for Skins

I feel like while the artwork for these are awesome and look really great, they are very misleading as to what the actual skins look like take Acolyte Lee Sin for example looks nothing like the artwork hell it doesn't even look like the same skin!

whats up with that? are there plans to go back and touch up player models and or their skins? Because as of now I am kind of on the fence about buying anymore skins until I have looked up elsewhere what it looks like in game.
