An Urgent Call to Action
The main conference room within the Institue of War. High Councilor Kolminye sits in the front of the room, with other high-ranking members of the League flanking her. The leadership of the Riotous Fists Clan sits to the side. A crowd of various Summoners sit in the back, bearing witness to the proceedings. One Summoner, whose robes bear the greenish accents of Zaun, stands up and approaches the center of the room, clearing his throat.
"Hello everyone, and thank you for coming today. My name is Summoner Janus Medlen of Zaun, and I would like to bring forth an inquiry into recent actions performed by a subset of the Riotous Fists Clan of the Institue of War. As you all know, an attempt at the destruction of the Institue was recently made by the mad Summoner Thomas Gnox, under the insane pretext that the League, the Institute and we Summoners never existed."
"Upon further investigation of the matter, evidence was unearthed which implied that the Council of the Historical Archive for the Narrative of Runeterra, composed of members of the Riotous Fists Clan, were implicit in the mad Summoner's plot. Following my own...private investigation of the Narrative Council, I procured the following documents. Within these sheets lies proof that the Narrative Council had begun eliminating references to the League within the official historical archives of the Insitute!"
Janus emphatically waves the sheets in the air, before slamming them down on the podium just as he finishes his statement. Immediately, nearly every Summoner in the room stands up as the crowd breaks into yelling and screaming. High Councilor Kolminye stands and stares calmly at the crowd, quieting the noise.
"Thank you, High Councilor. In light of this discovery, I would like to petition that the Insitute commence an official review regarding the case I have presented here today, with a full report pending submission to the proper authorities. In the meantime, I would also like to submit a request to all Summoners, in order to prevent situations like the one we have experienced. I am a member of the Association for the Preservation of the History of the Factions of Runeterra, a small organization dedicated to chronicling the more recent events in our history in conjunction with the Summoner's Herald. I ask that the Summoners gathered here today, and any others who will hear me, will lend support to our cause, so that we expand our work to the entire history of our wold and hold accountable the actions of the Narrative Council."
"Thank you all for listening, and please, help us do what is necessary. If you have any questions, please contact either myself of the founder of our Association, Summoner CupcakeTrap of Bandle City. Only if we all work together can we prevent the destruction of our history."
Intrigued? Asking yourself, "Why could this nub have possibly taken time to write this out? Is he just butthurt? What's the point?" Well, it's so that people dissatisfied with Narrative's current direction can know that Factions exists. Okay, fine, yes. This is essentially a shameless plug. However, over the 6 months or so I've participated in Factions, I've had experiences that I've truly enjoyed, much more than I expected. But y'know, whatever, get to the point. The important part is that after the Great Retcon, Factions made the decision to break from Riot Lore and keep the League of Legends in League of Legends. Factions now has its own, independent lore written by the community derived from the original Riot Lore, including our own version of the Journal of Justice: the Summoner's Herald. We are a dedicated community that could really benefit from talented individuals who would be willing to lend themselves to helping us, even by simply playing matches. So please, if you miss calling yourself a Summoner, or roleplaying your life at the Institute of War, give Factions a look. We'll try not to crit you in the face.
"Any changes doctor?"
"Unfortunately not nurse. He keeps going on about some 'Institute of War' and 'Summoners' and some such things. He actually made a rather strange debate with himself just now."
