Rioters, Please revert King Tryndamere Portrait
I play Tryndamere a lot and King Tryndamere is my favorite skin. Please revert King Tryndamere's portrait. He looks so ugly now. for comparison: http://www.leagueoflegendsskins.com/images/champions/splash/Tryndamere_2.jpg https://i.ytimg.com/vi/_PWtNGaf56c/maxresdefault.jpg
- Either the armor is too bulky, or the head is too small. I think if you make it 30-70% larger, it wouldn't look as awkward as it does now.
- The pummel is a non-parallel hexagon, indicating the edge is pointing sideways ~45 degrees to the camera, but the edge seems to be perpendicular to the camera.
- The right shoulder plate seems to be larger than the left shoulder plate, but I don't know if this is intentional given how disproportionate the other
- The action lines are too flat. He is just standing there with his sword pointing to the ground (which is also historically inaccurate), which make 2 parallel lines, with his left arm making a small action line between them
- The background looks like he's the king of a shitty winter hellscape
If you think armor should be that bulky, here's a discussion on why modern ideas of armor are bulky and historically inaccurate https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMlur_1dgqY From what I've seen, wearing padding with full plate is extremely rare. But both are at most the size of a winter coat.
All the touchup that was needed from the old portrait imo was (in order of importance)
- tilting the sword for edge alignment purposes. This is really important for any edged weapon. Immediately stood out to me. Also emphasizes the gem slot concavity and gem convexity, makes for more interesting shapes
- foreshortening the right sword arm, pulling the sword back slightly
- move body from the insignia on the shirt slightly right so as not to have such an arched back and bulging abdomen
- making the helmet ~10% larger
- mesh flat shirt for convexity instead of arching the back
When I see old King Tryndamere, I see a king (plating fits him, custom made quality, chest puffed out, tall crown, snarling with contempt) with a BFS looking majestically off camera to unseen lands yet unconquered. When I see new King Tryndamere, it's just a guy (beer gut) with weird proportions (small head) down on his luck, with a sword too big for him, a throne too metaphorically big for him, scared if what little his people has left can last them the winter (sideways downward glance, makes the crown smaller in perspective).
