So as we all know Varus's new lore has come out and it's a welcome change in my eyes BUT there are problems with it. I'm just going to preface that I have 0 issues with Valmar and Kai being gay it's just an aspect of the story and that's all it is to me. So with that out of the way I will being with my thoughts on Varus's new lore. What I like: The Darkin aspect of his lore is good and I like the development the Darkin got in this update. I think Kai and Val's ministory is also a good touch. In general I think it pretty good it we boil it down to that. What I don't like: The lack of explanation for anything. We get no information on why Varus would make his task more difficult for himself by taking on two hosts. We also don't know why Varus is in this pit within a holy temple that people frequently visit. I mean Rhaast was locked up deep underground and noxians had to dig him up. Now the biggest gripe of all of this for me was how these two could take control from a fucking Darkin with the power of "love" to me as a reader it is very cheesy and seems like a move Disney or a teenaged fanfic writer would make. I also find that in his bio riot wrote something fairly stupid. They state that Varus uses arrows to torment his victims into insanity? I don't think that's how arrows work at all. It seemed pointless to add.

Now to main point. The Varus Lore ok if you look at it like From sn objective viewpoint. People here in this community are praising it because there are gay charecters in it and they will say it's perfect. That is not a good way to judge anything and you will blatantly ignore the issues this lore obviously has. Now on the other side of the coin we have people who hate the new lore saying it's the worst because there are gay charecters in it. This again is stupid because you're taking away from the high points of this new lore. Both of these standpoints take away how one should judge stories or any content for that matter. Don't cause a hyperbole and overstate the content because that can and WILL hurt the lore and will take away so much from other aspects of the character.

I think there is a reason he took two bodies at once. One of them was literally dieing, and the other one might not have been able to truly "contain" the Darkin, What use is a vessel if you know it's going to break sooner or later? The Darkin are not weird body-hopping aliens that can just jump from one person to another. There must be conditions for a person to qualify as a suitable host - probably also the explanation why Aatrox is doing to Tryndramere, he's possibly trying to create himself a body he can unfold his full potential in.

Varus was not exactly in the position to chose where those two fell into his prison. Taking both of them was the only ticket outa'there he's gotten in several millenia, so obviously he's going to take it. Even if it might come to bite him in the ass in the far future. Who knows, maybe as much as he tries to corrupt them, he in turn gets slowly affected by the two human souls inside him? The chaotic journey of that trio has only just begune after all...
