Kalista, and her connection to Hecarim

So, I was bored and looking at the information on Kalista that we know of. One of the first things they showed of her was her spear. And I didn't think anything about it at first.

But I've noticed that the spear she fights with looks strikingly similar to the spear that Hecarim uses. They're not exactly the same in design, and Kalista's spear is made of what looks to be souls. Like after her spirit rose she needed a weapon to fight with, and her real one was nowhere to be found. So she fashioned one to the best of her memory.

One of her taunts she says, "Return our spear." And while this could refer to the item the Black Spear she carries or the literal spears that she lodges into her opponents (Though this would make more sense to be said on the use of Rend if that was the case) I think that maybe this is in reference to her spear which was literally stolen. By Hecarim.

We don't know everything about her yet, but we know she was from the Shadow Isles and was betrayed and murdered. In her reveal where it shows her abilities, she's mostly fighting Hecarim. And while this doesn't necesarily MEAN anything, she's also shown fighting Zed and Lissandra. Both of which who are known for their betrayal.

So my theory is that in life, Kalista and Hecarim knew each other in some form. Perhaps they were comrades, or siblings, or perhaps they just both used the same brand of toilet paper. But when the Shadow Isles reached the tipping point (And became what we know it as today) she was slain by Hecarim (or perhaps someone else and Hecarim simply did nothing to stop her death) and had her spear stolen by him.

I meant to ask about this during the Q&A, but I wasn't able to. Any thoughts on this theory?

Ya know I have my own theory of why Hec's page is shrouded, I don't believe that Hec actually betrayed Kalista but rather that some one payed Kalista to kill Hec. But then who would want Hec died? Well I'm pretty sure alot of people want Hec dead but I doubt any of them meet Kalistas rules, he would of have had to betray them. So then comes who wants Hec dead as well he must have betrayed them...well I havent found anybody who meets that criteria but I do have my suspicion on who it might be. I think its Mord and Karthus, why? Well remember when Fabulsita was posting all sort of stuff, well some one asked him what his thought on Mord and Karthus was and he responded by saying, "they walk the same path", implying that Mord and Karthus have the same goal but oddly enough some one else is left out, guess who? Hec is, which doesnt make sense, its even more suspicious when you realize Fabulista didn't even mention Hec, especially when Hec is a general of the undead. Does this mean that in the new lore Hec actually betray Mord or does he plan to? Since Fabulista did say Mord and Karthus "walk the same path" then what "path" does Hec walk on?

Hecarim doesnt use the same spear Kalista uses. Hecs uses more of a lance with a bladed top, a glaive i believe its called.

I'm going to say probably none. Just because they both hail from the shadow isles doesn't mean anything.

They do look awfully similar, but Hecarim doesn't stab, he helicopters.

Just saying, Hecarim uses a polearm/helbard in battle, not a spear. Rioters said in Kalista's Q&A that she was always using a spear, as far as I remember, so we can conclude that Hecarim didn't steal her weapon. Maybe he did actually, but it's not the weapon he's holding.

I think that the connection between them is a lot more than a stolen weapon.

I doubt that Kalista has a personal connection with hecarim,if she had one, then she would have some kind of interaction with him,but she only has some for Twisted fate, graves, cassiopeia,Lissandra,Karthus and varus. I mean she has so many lines for so many people,it'd be really odd to leave out one of the most important figures of her character(and while you might say they didn't want to spoil anything, they could have gone for some generic lines)

I like to think Riot Games had intended to create a place of Dwarves, Elves, Orcs and Centaurs but scrapped it. I like also that there are no Elves and Orcs in LoL's champion roster, too. So..

  • Was the Shadow Isle a place of Centaurs and Elves, and others?
  • What was the Shadow Isle before the curse? (I imagine Greek-inspired architecture)
  • What really is the seed of life that Maokai protects?
  • Are the previous inhabitants of Shadow Isles a collection of forgotten races?
  • How were they different from present-time Human & Yordle races of Runeterra?

What are you trying to say?

If Hecarim is (or was) a Centaur would Kalista have been an Elf?

(and where may Alistar the Minotaur fit into this?)

I doubt there is a connection to hecarim, otherwise she'd had taunts for him. I mean even though hecarim was marked as a betrayer she doesn't have anything for him and instead has taunts for karthus,so I think Hecarim is just another betrayer for her.

Honestly,I doubt that Hecarim and Kalista are directly connected. Kalista got several taunts for multiple betrayers, but not for hecarim.

If hecarim was directly connected to kalista, then she would have most likely a taunt for hecarim.
