Question for Kindlejack, if he sees this

I'm pretty excited for the new Fiddle sticks VGU. I have just finished playing the new Resident Evil 2 remake, and I don't think I was ever more scared in a video game than when Mr. X surprised me as he came stomping after me in a Licker filled hallway. This isn't related to League, but I just wanted to demonstrate a moment where in a video game I actually felt the Fight or Flight responses IRL.

My question: what kind of horror theme are you channeling into new Fiddlesticks? Jump scares? Ambient fear? Unstoppable horror (like Mr. X)? I know you probably can't wait to show us, and we can't wait to see it... but I was hoping for maybe a small hint.

I'm really excited to play him, I enjoy playing champions that put "fear" into enemy players without actually using a fear mechanic. Warwick's ambient music chiming on when an enemy champion is below 50% HP, I friggin love that. You can sometimes see the apprehension in players when that dings on. I'm hoping Fiddlesticks is similar or better.

Squad5 is targeting Fiddle's gameplay around being 'The premier ambush champion in LoL' which as I understand it means that, all other things being equal, it should win in situations where it gets the drop on opponents. The balance to this is if opponents know where Fiddlesticks is and jump on it then Fiddle is gonna go down like a straw man. Due to this core gameplay value it totally makes sense for Fiddlesticks to be, well, fear itself! The horror trope of fear incarnate: it grows stronger the more you run from it and the more frightened you get, and the only way to defeat it is to face it with a fearless heart.

Mr. X is gonna kill you. He's an unstoppable threat and you can only run from him. Another example of this used well in games is The Hunter in Dead Space (my personal favourite horror game) where you are forced to perform high-skill tasks while the ever present threat is constantly closing in on you. It's the stress of a deadline, the knowledge of our inevitable death, the shock of thinking you had more time ,

Fiddlesticks is the unknown. It's the open back door you're swear you locked, it's the darkness beyond the last lamp on the street, it's the sound of footsteps when you know you are alone. If you can somehow quell that fear and stop your imagination running wild with images of Slenderman standing right behind you then maybe you will survive, maybe you'll discover it's just a pile of clothes you threw on a chair last night and laugh about it. But as Fiddlesticks you'll be working hard to ensure it's always dark and the enemies mind is constantly filled with doubts. Keep them afraid to leave the safety of their towers until it's too late and they realise that as the fear grew within them they gave you power and now... nowhere is safe.

My guess would be jumpscare.

They are keeping his ult, which already has the jumpscare effect if he unexpectedly blinks over a wall onto you for murder. Also they said that they want to resolve his gameplay around "you have to find the scarecrow before it finds you".

So I guess Fiddlesticks gets some power if he manages to stay hidden for some time and then he will jump onto you out of nowhere and make you wet your pants.
