Turns out Taric is in fact a gem, and his human form is just a hologram projected from the gem i.e Steven Universe/Crystal Gems. Mostly likely not, but oh man, do I wish it.
Honestly more like someone ascended Mt Targon and the Celestial Aspect of fabulousness awarded/sent Taric the ring
