4.19 patch's hero icons and default skins are so speechless for me. I was really glad that riot are constantly improving the look of the game , but this time it is causing problem. I think it ended up going to the wrong direction.

reasons:

    1. unrecognizible:
  • I can no longer identify many champions because they cutted off many parts of their body or face.

  • I had a hard time to see what those characters actually are just by their facial feature.

  • examples:

  • Blitzcrank Veigar Udyr Singed Rumble
    1. out of character:
  • Looks like the new design do not attach to the story anymore and do not have love in it.

  • They are unlikely having the charateristic the hero should have.

  • examples:

  • Janna Talon Udyr
    1. problem with choice of color:
  • this is the main problem.

  • The colors is too vibrant to see.

  • The color theme do not match to the origanl design, which is counter intuitive too many old fans such as me.

  • The colors do not reflect the characteristic of the heros, I do not see their personality anymore.

  • I like the monochromatic color design it used to have because it has clairity to it, right now it is just too messy examples:

    Ezreal Blitzcrank Zilean Tristana Graves

I know you guys put a lot of effort for many hero on this patch, but honestly I think its not making it better, it looks worse than before. I hope you would consider what I am saying. Lol is always my favourite game, I do not want it going to the wrong art direction, and that why I break silence this time.

better icons examples: I think these are much better because they are recongnizible, in-character, and using apropriate color scheme Sona Lucian Ahri Caitlyn MissFortune Nidalee

I would discuss the problem with these icons in detail if you would like to know what I am saying. Please take a look at this post. I think the look of the game is as important as the content, it is very very urgent.

Give it time bud. Had they started off with the current icons, and then transitioned to the old icons, you'd be saying the same thing. We've seen some of the same icons for at least 3 seasons. I enjoy them, and I can speak for a good portion of this community that can vouch for being able to clearly and correctly identify each champ with their new in-game icons.

I dunno how they show stuff that doesn't fit the champion. I mean Udyr is supposed to be a wild man,he is known to sometimes loose his cool and go wild. Janna doesn't even have that much personality to begin with(I mean she more or less just flies around talking about wind),she is however known to seek to right the injustice in the world and on that icon she looks more like a calm person(where you would expect that),than on her previous one(where she looked a bit like she was stoned) Last but not least we have Talon who looks quite serious on his icon and where his face is in the shadows, which is perfectly fitting for an assassin.

Honestly the only thing that you brought up that bothers me the most is the icons. The colors hurt my eyes. I think they are implementing them too close together too. I wish they gave more time to adjust to new splashes before adding more. Its like having a full team of champs i can't recognize at first.
