The Similarities: A lot of people are saying that that they are all orphaned which is true, but if that's the case why no put Amumu or the 50 other champions that were probably orphaned? It has to be deeper than that. So what they all have in common is that they have someone they love but can't go back to.
Vi is now a Piltover police who left behind her old gang. Ekko still thinks that she will come back. Sona killed her "mom". Maybe her mom was trying to help her but there was an accident which made Sona feel threatened. Garen is Demacian and is in love with Kat, a Noxian. Garen has been said to have helped Kat several times but never have they been made a official couple because Garen would never betray Demacia. Zed killed Shen's father despite the fact that he gave a home to Zed. Zed must have felt welcomed and overjoyed when he Shen's father gave him a home. He wanted to be acknowledged by his master so he took the dark path, but all the teacher did was say that he failed him.
Just compare Shen to Kakashi, Zed to Obito, and Shen's father to...Minato?
Highlights of Zed lore: Sensing the dark knowledge within, Zed knew he should not open it, but he peered inside nonetheless...The old man laid his sword at Zed's feet, declaring that he had failed Zed as his master. By banishing his former student, the master had doomed Zed to the shadows, instead of leading him to the balanced path. The old man implored Zed to enter the temple, destroy the box, and lead his followers to balance. The dark ninja followed the master inside. Screaming in rage, Zed commanded his followers to slaughter the master's students and seize the box.
Zed Teaser: There is blue light through his helmet which looks somewhat like eyes, flowers growing in his armor, a body no where to be found, gunshots and lighting supposedly heard in the background. Flowers in Asian culture means rebirth. The Zed is Noc theory states the Zed becomes Noc. Noc also has blue glowing eyes with a wispy body. However I feel like the gunshots and lighting are just there to create the mood.
Project Analysis: Yi wakes up seeing a ruined town and a guy he wants to stop. However he doesn't remember anything else. Fiora comes to calms him and give him a sword. Yi doesn't seem to remember anything else besides the guy and the fact that he wants to stop him. Yi doesn't remember anything else, especially how he wants to stop him. Zed approaches and attacks them but Lucian saves them. Yi follows in on the attack because he trusts Fiora and a guy trying to kill you isn't someone you usually defend. As Yi fights he remembers something. Some people can not be talked to and in the end he looks sad as he holds the flower petal in his hand.
I don't think that Riot would release a new champion and a champion rework at the same time.
Theory: Jhin is Shen's father. Zed felt he was being ignored by his master so he got shadow powers so he can be noticed and praised by his teacher. But he wasn't and Jhin said he failed as a teacher and apologizes to Zed. Zed believes that Jhin is the best teacher of all time and gets angry that Jhin is saying the stupidest thing of all time. In his rage bits of Noc awakens inside of him making him open the box and kill Jhin. Shen is Deadeye. Why would Shen want to save Zed? Shen knows Zed the best after Jhin. He must know that Zed is being corrupted by Noc. Zed would never want to kill Jhin, he wanted Jhin's praise. Why was this ninja art banned? Not because its op but because of the monster that it awakens inside the user. Shen will try to save Zed, but something will go wrong. We can compare Yi, Fiora, and Lucian in the PROJECT: OVERDRIVE to the Kinkou ninjas. Shen will kill Zed but it will because he will have no choice. Shen is convinced by Kennen and Akali that Zed is no more and must be destroyed. But Zed does not die, he becomes Noc.
