Canon Timeline Questions

Can we please get some kind of info on where Valoran stands? Since the retcon threw the Institute out the window it would be very much appreciated if we had some kind of knowledge as to what is happening in the world, because we know almost nothing as it stands. While I love updates like Sion's new lore, they do not really tell us much about where in the timeline they take place. Some parts are spoken as if it is current, others as if it is in the past.

Are Noxus and Demacia still at war? Who is ruling Noxus currently? Swain or Darkwill? Was Ionia ever invaded? How did that conflict end (Or did it)? What ended the Rune Wars? Are the Rune Wars even canon anymore?

As both an RPer and a lore-lover, I personally would be immensely grateful if someone who has the facts could throw us (the community) a bone as far as current events in Runeterra go.

They need to work on an official timeline or reveal it soon.

Noxus and Demacia will always be at war. The questions are how actively are they warmongering (that's a word right?) and with whom? Swain currently is the grand general. Iona is/was invaded by Noxus.

The reborn promo seems quite chronological. Sions background, perhaps not so much?

they are always at war....though its not confirmed yet whether right now is a time of "relative" peace where its mostly just posturing, if there are minor battles being fought like Kalamanda, or if there are full sized armies clashing. Swain releasing Sion and using him in a battle to me indicated that its likely the latter two options

Ionia was invaded....since the League is what ended the occupation we currently done know whether its still going on, or if the Ionians were able to repel Noxus on their own.

We don't know...but I see two possibilities.

Rune wars are canon....and the threat of using Rune Magic is what is keeping the city states from engaging in a full on war. Basically a kind of peace via "threat of mutual extermination". Noxus or Demacia cant fully commit to destroying each other because either could just start using Rune Magic in desperation and kill everyone.
Its no longer canon, which leaves the possibility for a story featuring a full scale war.

Im personally leaning to the first option. Gives more options for political storyline since the major factions cant just openly declare full war, so any conflict is going to be minor battles that can feature our champions, or involve subterfuge and plotting
