Something seems odd about Jax.

He remembers events from Icathia but, HE DOESN'T REMEMBER HOW HIS SKIN LOOKS LIKE!

First time when i read it, i just overlooked it. I belived it was just another detail about him. When i read it the second time, something occured to me. If he doesn't remember how his skin looks like how did he remembered events from Icathia? I mean...... It's his SKIN, how can you possibly forget that? And i have some theories.

  1. Icathia is not his homeland. It's just a place that Jax called home because he spend a lot of time there or some important events happend there. And whatever happend to him that he wears that mask/helmet and so many clothes happend a long time before Icathia.

  2. What ever happened to him also made him lose his memory and he indentifies Icathia as his home because it's the first place he remembers beeing. And this means that he probably doesn't know what or who he is.

  3. He suffers some sort of identity issues or something like that. Like he made himself forget what he is and looks because , I don't know, he hated what he is or what he had become and started a new life and identity as Jax.

tl;dr Icathia maybe isn't his homeland or he maybe has some identity issues.

Uhm I don't see the big connection here. He likely remembers the events of icathia and maybe how he looked back then,but keep in mind that this was like thousand years ago. If your skin doesn't get any sunlight for centuries,then it will change in color(or void corruption could also change skin-color over time)

Jax has a very interesting story. I also made a post about my theory of his origin and I brought up a point that maybe he has been corrupted by the void like kassadin and malzahar have been.

He takes the mask off to eat the egg but he doesn't know what his skin looks like

I think void corrupted him and he saw that he was being deformed. Now where's clothing to cover his body and never looks at it I guess. He must stink...

I think you should look at the bigger picture:

His robes were heavy, but the sun’s warmth didn’t reach the mottled and oddly hued skin beneath. No part of his flesh was visible, which was probably just as well. He wasn’t even sure what his skin looked like anymore.

I doubt there are many who think of their natural skin color as "odd", particularly if it's a skin color common to those around you.

To me, that sounds like some event caused his skin to change from it's natural color to some other color, and that shortly afterwards he covered it up. It might even change hue slightly over time, in the same way a bruise might.
